Is it me or is Disney Quest Lame

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering what everyone thought about Disney Quest. My feelings about this place are as follows:

I have been there three times and each time I leave I feel confused.
I walk in and get so excited (this is where it has the most promise) then as I journey from floor to floor and can't get on half of the simulators because the lines are too long and the few things I do try are nothing special.

When I leave I feel confused like I missed something. Maybe it's me, but I feel like this place could be so much better, but is nothing more then a glorified arcade with some very lame simulators. I think Disney could have done much better.

How do you feel about this place. Am I doing something wrong, am I missing something. Not sure if I am going to try it again this August.

My 12 year old grandson thinks Disney Quest is the best thing going at Disney. Maybe it's an age thing!! Also, we try never to go when there will be crowds.

I love DQ. The things you guys mentioned have never really applied to me... The price doesn't bother me because it's been a part of my MYW tickets. And the time (yes, one so far, but I expect I'll be there at least one time this next trip, possibly more times) I was there it wasn't too crowded. The longest I think I stood on line for anything was 10 minutes for the Extraterrorestrial and CyberSpace Mountain simulators. We even got on PoC quickly as they needed a party of two and we luckily were the only one on line.

Also the video games were free. Just press a button and go. That was just as great the other attractions because these were the games I grew up playing and most of which I haven't seen my childhood.

I haven't been there in 6 years but I really enjoyed it when I went. Dh went last year I'll have to ask him what he thought (I went shopping ). Last time I was there I really enjoyed the make your own roller coaster thing. I think we only had to pay for it once and it was cheap (I was a CM then) the other times it was free with our package. If I had to pay a whole lot I might skip it.

Anyway, I think its fun. I'd rather be in a park though.

Almost everything at Disney Quest has no extra charge. The "pay games" are those that issue coupons you can trade for prizes, also you pay for pictures or CD's to take home if you wish to have those souvenirs.

Usually I go into Disney Quest for just a few hours at a time on several different days, which makes premium annual passes quite useful.

Actually I thought Epcot was lame the first time I went there (1985). Not intellectually stimulating.

I think Disney Quest is lame. But I think it was meant more for little kids than adults. I agree with you about the long lines too.

We really enjoyed it the first time we went in 1999 but then we went back this April I couldn't wait to get out of there. Hubby wanted to stay at the classic arcade games all day but that's all. We'll probably never go back again.

Personally I think it is lame, my kids like it--I get a PAP, so it isn't like I'm putting money out for it. We try to go when we think it will be least crowded. I usually sit around or play a few things with DD while DH and DS do some of the simulators. DD will join them if she wants to and I sometimes leave to shop. In fairness to DQ, I've never been a big video gamer and really never went to arcades as a child, so to me there is no appeal. Many times when I've been there a good number of things are not working, and I often thought how "had I opened my wallet to pay for this I'd really be PO'd." Last time we went DQ was like this--nearly everything broken or "down for repairs" that was in February. We didn't even bother with it in July, though if the kids had asked we would have let them.

I think its great, but I love arcades and video games. My DS 6, thinks its the best things since sliced bread. I guess it depends if you enjoy video games or not since its is an arcade with some cool simulators.

My husband and I really enjoyed it when we went. It was not crowded at all, so not much of a wait for anything (we got there right at opening). Lame? Not in our opinion...we had a ball. Each to their own.

Sorry, I have to go along with the lame crowd. It's possible that it's a function of when you go, but maybe the more popular attractions there should have fastpass as well. When we went, POC was lined up around the block, a lot of the games were out of order (surprising for Disney), and nothing else seemed particularly exciting.

I can play video games at home, but I don't. Maybe that's the secret. If you like arcades, it's probably the most wonderful arcade around, but if you don't, then it's just another arcade.

I love Disney Quest. I go off season so lines have never been much of a problem, similar to the lines at any Disney Park off season. I could spend hours at the simulators and arcade games. Worth the $ for a ticket or for part of a package in my book.

I personally enjoy DQ as does my girlfriend. We don't go there all the time, but every once in awhile is great. We are going to get annual passes, but since we can get DQ tickets for $25 a pop at ticketmania.com we are not going premium with the APs. We will go for about five hours when we do go, and that has us doing about everything. But we like to go with a couple of our friends that live in orlando so we all have fun. With all that being said, DQ is not a place I would go to everytime I go to orlando, as I would much rather spend a day in the parks, but I do enjoy DQ as a good half-day option that doesn't cost that much.

My husband and older son went and said it was not so hot. Hubby couldn't believe that kids could get on a game and stay there indefinitely..its free once you are in. They did not get to do much because of this. I can not say from my own experience but, they were not so impressed.

I am in the same place as "pasta"... We have a PAP so we are actually paying for this. Living on the Jersey Shore we are so use to vacationers coming to our boardwalks to play arcades. So.... it is kind of crazy when we go somewhere else to do the same thing LOL! All and all... my son likes going there... and the Cheesecake Factory is worth the trip for me LOL!

LAME! I went before and it was sept and not crowded but nothing was running. We did 3 things and that was it. We did see stuff that looked like fun but it was not operating and there wasn't a cm in site to ask about why that was the case. Oh well.There is so much to do at DIsney that I won't waste my time (Nor my money) at DQ ever again. Of course just my opinion.

If there was no DQ I think Dh and the boys would refuse to go back to WDW!!

They go daily and have DQ AP's. They can stay in there all day. When I go, I surf the internet and eat Chocolate Cake from the CCF.

There is a "gamers code" (just stand behind the person playing) that you must abide by when waiting for games, but we don't have any problems getting to play what we want. My boys arent tall enough for Cyberspace Mountain yet, but they love the Animation class, POC and the Sports Floor.

Wow ! We have a lot of different opinions ! I thought it was even less
than LAME. I Disliked it a lot. I was there quite a few years ago.
To be fair, I was never much into video games, and I don't have any children.
I went there as a 40-something woman, solo at the time. I hardly even looked at the price, because it was included in my ticket. I found it to be too noisy, too crowded, and too confusing. When I left, I just happenned to notice the cost. WOW ! WAY too much for that !

My 3 DS's loved it, but I plan to bring a book this time.

And we plan to go when it opens in the morning, not at night after a full day at the parks. That was way too much last time.

But I agree with the OP, I felt like there was so much more then we got to do because of lines. The same way people feel when they arrive at MK at 11 AM and are greeted with the crowds.
