Is It Me Or Is Anyone Else Sick Of Illuminations

I used to love Illuminations when they played the classical music. It was so great. Now I rarely see it, it's just not the same anymore.

Definite Illuminations and Spectromagic fan (Main Street Electricals the ultimate of course), Fantasmic was great the first time, Ok-ish the second and last time we didn't go.

Illuminations is my favorite. We listen to the cd all the time. Fantasmic is good, Spectromagic is also really good (MSEP is better). But Illuminations is the best. We stood in the rain last Friday watching it on our last night.

Illuminations is GREAT!! Have it on CD and DVD and watch it every time we're there even though it means missing time at World Showcase, which I also love.

I agree Fantasmic seems kinda wierd, but I know lots of people love it, too.

I literally used to watch Illuminations every night (I was a CP at Epcot) and I can tell you that I never got sick of it! I still listen to the soundtrack all of the time at work!

We love Illuminations. As a matter of fact, we try to go over to Epcot almost every night of our trips so that we can see it.

We've only done Fantasmic once, and we really weren't that impressed with it. Of course, that couldn't have had anything to do with the fact that our 2.5 yo was pretty freaked out by it! He'll be 4.5 this trip, so we're going to try it again.

The really great thing about WDW is there is truly something for everyone!

I love Illuminations and would watch it every night if DW would let me get away with it....which she wouldn't. I like Fantasmic too but I prefer Illuminations overall. And yes, the music is great and I too listen to it quite often!

Add us to the fans of Illuminations list. We saw Fantasmic once and didn't understand what the big deal was about...we keep saying we should give it another chance but end up at Illumiantions instead.
And yes, the soundtrack is in my car right now. I listen on my way to work. It is my daily meditation. I teach middle school. "We go on" and "Promise" convince me that there's hope!

We love Illuminations. We find Fantasmic to be okay, but not worth the wait. Now the fireworks they used to have at the Studios (and still do on special occasions?), that was a great show!

Seriously, Illuminations is still my fav as fireworks shows go. Fantasmic Ive seen once, yeah it was good and I would like to see it again. MK fireworks, not worth waiting around for, although the MVMCP fireworks were very enjoyable.
Illuminations was my trial by fire(no pun intended) as for fireworks at WDW and it made a lasting impression on me.
That sweeping music and when the dude blows out the fire around the lagoon, gives me goosebumps everytime!!
Im glad so many people love so many different aspects of WDW, variety being the spice of life. Thats what makes a trip to the World so special, each time you experience something new and different.
To each his own. Now you march yourself up those stairs and think about what you just said

I'm new--can someone fill me in on what Illuminations and Fantasmic are? I'm assuming they're fireworks displays, but when, where, etc..... thanks!!

I have seen Illuminations at least 50 times, still gives me, at a minimum, a lump in my throat, and often, tears in my eyes. I love the presentation. And listen to the sound track often (have 3 cd's of it, LOL, car, home and portable). I do like Fantasmic! also, but I love Illuminations.

It's a tradition! The other fireworks shows are different, and I like them too, but I like that it Illuminations doesn't change much.

Fantasmic is nice, and when travelling with a newbie will always make the time to see it. Illuminations on the other hand is our favorite evening show in all of the World. I cry everytime as has everyone I've ever brought. My best friend once actually opted to skip Creme Brulee at Le Cellier so as not to miss a moment of our second Illuminations viewing in one trip.

I can't believe how many people enjoy Illuminations over fantasmic. That explains why disney really has'nt changed it in a long time. I guess they don't want to change what works for them.

We were in the front row to Fantasmic three weeks ago - we thought it was great! (and we too saw Illuminations in the background).

We went later in the week and saw Illuminations - it was much shorter than I ever remembered it being and where we were you couldn't hear the music, so we had to quick move, which was disappointing. The fireworks were SOOOO loud some of the kids were actually screaming in terror! I couldn't believe how loud they were! Overall, I was not impressed with Illuminations, would much rather had seen Fantasmic or Spectromagic again (although I do agree the Pocahontas part of Fantasmic is a snore). Although in past years I remember Illuminations being wonderful so I don't know what the deal was.

Depends on who going in our family also. I must see this at least twice every trip. Kids would rather stay at pool and swim. It does need to be tweeked now and then. I also love the music and listen to all the time. Fantasmic is the show of choice for my kids also.
