Is it me or do winter evenings feel cooler in Florida?

When I was in WDW 2 years ago in December, the evening temperatures were in the 50's. Now I'm a Northern girl and 50's don't feel particularly cold to me. But when I was in Florida I really had to bundle up in the evenings, especially at the Candlelight Processional. Layers, hat, gloves. At home if I wear a sweater at those temperatures its sometimes too warm. Am I the only one this happened too?

Different things factor in, like the humidity. Plus chances are when you are at home and it is in the 50's out, you aren't spending hours outside and then sitting on metal benches for an hour with the wind coming off the water.

I live in Wisconsin and when we go (normally in Nov, Dec. or Jan.) to WDW I love the cooler weather. Most evenings I am walking around in short sleeves, but my DH has a sweatshirt and jacket on!

Thank god we weren't the only ones that thought this!We are from NY and were glad that we had brought warm clothes (especially for the kids) .You're right when you say 50 is warm in the north during the winter months but it's definately a colder -almost damp 50 in Florida! :sunny:

So glad you mentioned this! We were also at the candlelight processional a few years ago, in several layers and our winter coats from cleveland ohio, and we were freezing!!! I thought the same thing- 50's is like a heat wave to us in the winter, what gives? I think it was the wind and the dampness, but it was freezing!!

We are from GA, and found that winter eveenings at WDW can get chilly. In nov., we wore shorts and tanks, and found it funny that most cm's had on long pants, coats, and gloves...lol!

Come on, you guys...it's Disney.

They turn on special outdoor air conditioners to make it seem Christmas-ier and to encourage snow :thumbsup2

Florida has humidity which can make temps feel colder (and hotter). Also there is often a breeze. We always bring hats and gloves for winter trips.
