Yes and no. I grew up going to DL until I moved to Europe, and we went to DL Feb this year and just got back from DLP 2 weeks ago. DLP is like a hybrid of WDW and DL. It has a lot of intimate details and is bigger than DL, with a quality similar to New Orleans Square throughout. It is much more detailed and has far better dining facilities (4 table service restaurants of a Blue Bayou/Club 33 quality plus wine is served). The e tickets are plussed and are better than DL's - PotC, HM, BTM, Space Mountain, Small World etc. We also have some unique attractions too - the Labrynth, the AA dragon under the castle, Adventure Isle etc. So those are the things that are better. Also our parades are a little better and the shows are all Aladdin at DCA quality currently.
However, there is not anywhere near as much live entertainment, less attractions, fireworks only run 8 weeks a year, it can be dirtier, and the behaviour of guests can be a bit much, also the hours are shorter.
Overall I love them both, but am not likely to ever want to return to WDW. We go to DLP more often because it's nearer, but if I could, I would alternate between DL and DLP each time.
But the details and dining of DLP are unbelievable. Plus we have the Studios (smaller than DCA, but some nice attractions), Buffalo Bill's Wild west Show (which is awesome!!!!!), the Village is much worse than Downtown Disney but has some fun restaurants, hot air balloon, 7 themed hotels, a boating lake, and a 27 hole golf course.
