I'm having outpatient surgery in the morning. The doctor said I couldn't have anything to eat or drink after midnight. Now, all I can think about is eating and drinking.

I don't normally eat after midnight, but I always get hungry then when I can't eat. I usually have a big snack at 11:30 and then go to bed.

It's not just you. I can handle the no eating part but the no drinking is a killer for me.

No you are not alone. I am an ICU RN and it never fails, the majority of my patients that are lucid and NPO (not able to eat or drink) are the ones that complain of not being able to eat or drink.

i was that way before my surgery too. It was 1pm the before I went in and boy was I cranky.

I got my wisdom teeth taken out a few weeks ago. afterwards i couldnt eat much at all... hardly ice cream it hurt so bad. All i wanted was a giant... fat... grease ball steak and cheese...
