Is it just me??

DD12 and I have solidified our plans and then changed them almost completely several times this trip! DH and our three teen boys are just along for the ride and we like it that way. We have really enjoyed each part of the planning and my DD cracks me up with her binder and highlighters. 26 days and counting. I think I'm going to really miss this part!

And that would be fine if he wasn'tthe fussiest eater I've ever known... he won't bother even looking at menus to ensure there'll be something he'll eat there. Even if I'm showing them to him; instead its an 'mm'. Not so helpful when planning adr's ;)

He's the same when visiting other places too, even when he knows the location better than I. It's just the way he is and that's fine. It's just irksome to always be the planner.
I am not that fussy. I guess you have one you have to work on. :)

I truly enjoy the planning, it adds to my trip! However, that being said, I have "gone rogue" a few times at the parks when something magical pops up. I also try to always go during low crowd times with free dining. So that way I'm not stressing wait times etc. And I ALWAYS makey ADRscas soon as my window opens. That way I pretty much get to eat where I want and get to see as many characters as I want! All part of "the plan . Lol

I always love planning out my trip. Although it seems that everything changes once I get there.

I enjoy the research and the planning. And my DW likes to plan with me once I've done the research. We only get to the World about every 3-4 years so we try to make every visit count! I like to plan ahead...our next trip is December of 2017 and we already have figured out how we are going to allocate our days! It will change as we get closer but it is easier to change a plan than make a plan (that's a motto we use at work!).

Our goal is to make FP+ plans that will help define which direction we will be moving in the park so we don't do a lot of doubling back, but we don't plan it down to the minute. We like to know what we can do and have the info in order to make good choices while at the park so we don't wind up at the end of the trip wishing we had done something else.

And having ADR's for dinner takes out a lot of stress for us (lunch tends to be much looser)

I've added another layer to my planning and put the itenerary into an excel spreadsheet. 25 days to go! Cancelled the wild Africa trek so that frees up a few hours to plan.
The DW has had 2 spreadsheets running for our Trip in November 2015 (Recently added to our agenda thanks to the Free DDP) and our Trip in June 2016.

Sadly the (older) computer she was using got hit with some "Ransomware" and her files were lost (We didn't pay them). Fortunately most of the other important information was saved elsewhere. Anyway we got another computer (as the old on was "Ailing" anyway and we re-purposed it for our youngest DD to use.) and the first thing my DW did was "Re-Create" her spreadsheet.

I have several spreadsheets, a notebook, and a passporter. I have one spreadsheet that shows all reservations, park hours, park levels, and FP+s at a glance for the entire trip. Another spreadsheet for our daily budget trackers. And a 3rd spreadsheet that has our daily plans in detail. Last year I printed the daily ones out and took them with us each day. I was made fun of at first, but it was super easy and quick to access any information.

I love the passporter because it helps me remember special moments from each day, so I fill that out as I go along.

I need to plan otherwise I completely stress out! Also, it's the only way I can make the time go by. :)
