I think that I have become a hypocondratic (sp). Oh no is that a sore throat? Is that pain in my calf? I wish the marathon would get here so i can stop worrying about getting sick or aches and pains!

By the way, Merry Christmas to all and I urge everyone to remember that for unto us is born the Savior Christ Jesus!

Ken,
It is not just you.I have never had so much OJ,bananas and vitamins in my life.

Oh and THANK GOD for the makers of Zicam!!!!!!!!!!! It is a miracle worker! Use that 2x/day!

Linda

I have become really paranoid about catching something too. I don't think I've ever washed my hands so much. You should see all the different ways I've found to open doors, press elevator and photocopy machine buttons... :lmao:

I'm a runner and pediatrician, I get coughed and sniffled on daily (multiple times daily). I'm hoping I'm immune by now so that my 1st marathon will be a good one-- I'm so nervous. I just got over the stomach bug so I'm hoping I'm done with illness for a while.

I thought it was just me! I have my Anti bacterial hand gel and zicam and airborne sitting right by my computer at work! I make everyone stop at the door and I make sure they aren't sniffling before I give them the okay to come in! :rotfl2:

Well, I am so glad I am not alone!!!! I have never been so paranoid about being sick or getting injured. At least I am off of work until the 5th so I don't have to worry about getting sick from the kids at school!

Two more weeks and we can all stop worrying!!

Enjoy the holidays!

My keiki sneeze, I send them to the bathroom to wash their hands, and tell them to stay away from me.

From early December to January, we only kiss on the cheek or air kiss. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I load up on the vitamins, and take Zinc whenever someone near has a cold.

Lots of hand washing as well.

Same thing about being a germaphobe right now. Every time someone here sneezes or uses kleenix, I'm barking after them to be certain to wash hands and steer clear of me. I hear folks sniffling and pray for good health at least for the next few weeks. Ugh.

Merry Christmas!

So we are at my wife's grandpa's tonight and I'm sitting there and hear "Mom he's getting sick get in here." Without flinching my wife says to her Mom "Chris can't be near him because he can't get sick! He has to run in two weeks!" :rotfl: Not the kids, not her Grandpa, the guy who's running Goofy in two weeks.

I'm guessing all my freaking out has gotten into her head too. :rolleyes1

Yep, if someone at work clears their throat I take a step back! My hands are sore from washing so much....and it is not just germs that are concerning me - I am paranoid about walking carefully on the ice, and oh my gosh I don't even want to be on the roads with all the idiots that are rushing around in a hurry. Soon though it will be no worries, be happy, and proudly wear that Donald medal!!

Oh no Ken I hope you are not getting sick I have been sick for nearly two weeks now. If I do not get better by the 5th of Jan I am off to the dr. I have no idea where I got this it just will not go away. It has really affected my training . Stay well and run if someone sneezes or coughs your way.

Add me to the list of people who fear sickness/germs right now. My 2 yr old has been sick since Tuesday and my Mom (who lives across the street from me) has been sick since Christmas. I can avoid my mom until she's better, but I can't avoid my baby! My hands are raw and cracked from all of the hand-washing I've been doing, but I'd rather have that than be sick for the marathon.

Let's all think healthy thoughts for the next two weeks! :)

For probably the last month I have been telling sick people to stay away from me. I have been washing my hands and using anti-bacterial stuff. Not much longer now. Keeping my fingers crossed no one gets sick now.

I woke today a bit stuffy and thought "OH NO". Did a Zicam nose swab and bought some Vitamin C drops to start popping.

Can't get sick. Can't get sick. Can't get sick. My new mantra!

We will be there Thursday and for the first time ever I am bringing Lysol wipes to do the room down so I don't get sick before the race.No guarantee but it helps.

Linda

Hi Linda,
Not only am I bringing Clorax wipes this time but when I was in line at Rite Aid yesterday I saw the travel size bottles of Lysol so I'm bringing one of those along, too. Typically I'm not one to wipe down the room before I use it but I think I've been reading too many of those threads on the Community Board about people getting sick!

How funny!
I am exactly the same way. I am a therapist who works with teens and children. A week b/4 my 7th marathon I had a client come in who had a cold. I sat with my shirt over my nose. I told her that I could not get sick...I wouldn't even hug her or get around her after the session.
My clients know how crazy I get b/4 a marathon....I have all my medals hanging in my office.:rotfl:
DD8 got the throwing up virus the Sunday b/4 my last marathon....B/c I am such a good mommy, all I could think about while she was throwing up and I was holding her hair...then cleaning her up and sleeping the rest of the night with her....all I could think about is how I could not get sick b/c of the marathon....
I did get sick, but it was after the marathon! WOOT!

THANK THE LORD!
