Is it just me or... ?

Is it just me or is there like A LOT of kids that have been resorting to deadly drugs latley ?
I have had several friends who just started, but they arn't extremely "close" to me.
It seems like everyone that I thought would succeed didn't.
It's like half my grade is doing drugs.
I somewhat feel bad for them that they chose this, but then again, I'm not.
Do you think this is happening ? It just seems like a "out-break" of drugs to me :/

there's been a lot of reports of teenagers using heroin a few towns over from me. and TONS of kids at my school smoke and do pot. it's pathetic, really.

It's not an "outbreak" by any means, people have been doing hard drugs for a loong time. I've never really seen too much drug use, I've definitely heard of some pot and seen some kids in the drama dept. high, but nothing too heavy. Last year some acid/shrooms stuff going on at parties.

However, now that I'm in junior year I've been noticing some of the people I hang out with talking about doing shrooms, acid, PCP and LSD.

Not an outbreak, just life. Are you a freshman or sophomore? Drug use pretty much begins strong during freshmen and sophomore years. Junior and senior years are more about drinking.

its not new, but maybe your friends are just now starting to do drugs? i mean, no one was doing drugs in elementary school, and only one or two of the scary people in middle school where, but in high school it was everywhere. maybe thats why youre noticing it?

My friend and his brother smoke weed, but that's about it. There are a lot of people though that smoke. I don't see smoking as that big of a deal I guess though compared to smoking illegal drugs, overdosing prescriptions, etc.

It's always been really bad in my schools. It started about 6th grade with kids trying to get alcohol and that continued through junior high. High school now is a lot about smoking weed and drinking. I don't hear a lot about really hard drugs thankfully.

when i was in middle school, i knew about ten kids total who had tried weed, and a few more who drank. in high school, pretty much everyone i knew drank, and most had tried weed at least once. most of my friends smoked weed regularly by sophomore year.

I think in your area you are just reaching that age where people are finally getting into it. Its different everywhere(what ages people start, when it becomes "cool") ect. I knew barely anyone when I was in middle school who did more than pot & I entered high school & EVERYONE did it.

i have a some friends that smoke weed.
i went to a party and it was a bonfire, everyone there was drinking alcohol out of waterbottles and smoking weed on the roof. one of my close friends over teh summer did weed like everyday. but she got in trouble and ended up quitting. but at my school like everyone parties hard.

And none of those are "deadly" or even addictive drugs. Pot is pretty much fine, really nothing bad about it other than it can damage your lungs. And it's not addictive.

LSD has no long term effects and isn't really harmful to your health in any way.

Shrooms aren't bad for you, no long term effects, yadda yadda.

The only one that might be addictive is PCP, and the only reason I say that is because I've heard so little about it. I just know I wouldn't try it, because it can leave you scarred for life (from what I've read).

Now, I think what the OP means by DEADLY drugs is heroin and meth and stuff. Those things are disgusting and I've never known anyone who used them. I wouldn't want to know anyone who did either. Doing those kinds of drugs pretty much just says "I don't care about my life or my body at all and I'm worthless".

But oh, in response to the OP... As I've said, I've never heard of anyone in my area using scary deadly drugs. Which I thank god for.

In my area, people smoke weed for the most part. It's become a little less widespread because it's gotten kinda expensive and hard to get, but a lot of people still do it.

Some people I know have tried shrooms and LSD, but those things are hard to get a hold of so most people don't do them. In fact, I've heard LSD is virtually impossible to find in my area.

And then of course there's drinking. But I think that's obvious.
