Is it just me, or is the dining option insanely cheap?

I'm figuring out our package for our 7 day tickets and our one night at WL before or after we stay at VWL and it appears to me that the dining option comes out to $9 per day per person for our stay. Am I doing something wrong? That sounds so cheap!

It's $35 per day for adults and $10 per day for children. :)

I'm not sure what it figures out to, but I know when I priced it with and without I will be saving over 400 bucks getting the dining option as opposed to what I spent last year on food. I don't normally get the packages but unless any room only codes are incredible deals we will be going with the package with dining AND still getting to stay at the GF!!

I think I did something funky, lol! It's a great deal! I think rather than park hopping we'll just add dining. It will be nice to basically have the whole trip, meals included, paid for!

Okay, are you sure about those per day rates? I just checked again, removing my parents' part of our party and just did dh, myself, and dd. For the one room plus 3 7 day passes it was $818, with the dining option added it was $898. That means the dining option added only $80. That makes it the $35 for each adult and $10 for the child, but it is only charging me for one day. Maybe that is because the hotel stay is only one day? I'll bet that's the problem.

You can only get the dining option for the number of nights you are staying at a Disney resort. So if you are going to stay for 7 nights, your price would be $80 PER NIGHT you are staying. Total would be $560. If you don't stay at a Disney resort, you can't add the Dining plan.

I don't know... $35 per person and it doesn't count towards breakfast. If you want to eat at some places such as Downtown Disney... or Rainforest Cafe, the Dining plan won't save you much. Besides, I personally don't always want an appetizer, entree, and desert.

There is a great break down on the Restaurants board about the money saved on dining or not saved with the dining plan. It depends on where you eat. If you search "unofficial" the thread of the unofficial guide to MYW dining will come up. I wouldn't save us much as we eat at Boma which is a buffet.

We spend time finding the best deal and rates, we check with AAA, and check mousesavers daily--- but the best thing we have done the last three times is have a meal plan of any sort!!! 1- we don't have to think about how much we are spending (although in the end we always keep all the receipts to see if we really saved that trip) 2- its nice to have that "all-inclusive" feel when you are on vactaion. and 3 - if its part of a package, everything is paid for before you arrive--- check out the menus on line and plan ahead like you would PS.

--- the only time we don't do a meal plan is when we stay on the concierge levels.... they feed you there too!!!

We have scheduled several breakfasts, CRT, 1900 Park Fare, and Kona Cafe. We were told that they were all included in the plan.

Like I said it is saving us 400 bucks easily. I was looking at some of the menus/prices and some days you might break even with the 35 bucks, but not only does this package include the meal, it includes gratuity.

I am disapponted that Italy is not on the list though.

Right. You only get one day of food for one night of hotel. So even though technically you'd be there two days and one night... you only eat on one day. For us it works out great because our flight is early so we wouldn't be eating on our 9th day anyway.

Thanks everyone. For a minute there I thought I had stumbled upon the deal of the lifetime, lol!
