is it just me, or do even the most basic calls to CRO take 20+ minutes?

ever since they "upgraded" to their new system this year, calls to CRO take forever!

i'm talking about really basic calls, like adding 1 night to an existing reservation...
or seeing if a previously sold out AP rate might have become available again.

the CMs are always having to place me on hold while they're waiting for the system to finish processing. they never had to do that last year or prior.
one time, the CM got so frustrated at how slow the system was, they couldn't finish booking my ressie. so they asked me if they could call me back whenever the system finished processing.
that was fine with me. the funny thing is it took them 10 more minutes before they called me back. 10 minutes... that's how long it took to spit out a reservation#.

it's really significantly slower than it used to be.
it's kind of annoying... *sigh*
i don't know if this is old news or what... i haven't had much interaction w/ CRO this year (ever since i bought DVC, that is).
when exactly did they switch over anyway?

I agree, the time required to make any changes is crazy. For me it has gotten to the point I do not bother inquiring about changes unless they are absolulty required. Maybe Disney is doing this on purpose?? I have heard that some people change their reservations as many as 20 times prior to their trip. Now thats NUTS!

Yes, I've noticed how long it takes...but usualy forget to time it, by the time a CM answers line. What's up with all the questions? From what I can tell the answers you give them aren't used by CM. They seem to be a tool to keep you on the phone longer (but giving you something to do) before the longer wait.::yes::

I hope you are all using he toll free number. :p otherwise those calls add up.

>>^..^<<

Perhaps its designed to encourage everyone to use the internet booking system.

I too was amazed at how slow the process was.

When you call to change a reservation, some of the questions don't make any sense.

I don't think it matters what buttons you push you end up in the same queue.

What toll-free number? I didn't realize there was one. The last time I called I was on hold 15 minutes before someone even picked up. Years ago, they had a much better system, where the phone would ring and ring until someone was ready to take the call, so that you were not charged until a real person picked it up. Does anyone remember that?

You can call toll-free for room reservations and priority seating arrangements. Here's the number:
