Is it just me? (I'm feeling cranky...)

Actually that's fine, because it means they don't offer me the credit card for the 1000th time! :teeth:

Exactly one of the reasons why I would rather these clerks be silent. No more upselling please.

In general I don't think I've had a problem with rude or silent cashiers. I think the only time I've noticed it is at Target of all places. The one where I work has several cashiers that hardly say a word. Actually that's fine, because it means they don't offer me the credit card for the 1000th time! :teeth:

I had an issue with a Target clerk a while back who didn't say one word the whole transaction. As I was leaving I turned to her and said something about "Shouldn't you thank me for the transaction?" She looked at me funny and then indicated that she was deaf.
At first I was embarrassed that I had said anything, but then I got to thinking--couldn't she have a sign to show customers that she's deaf but thanks us for our business? Or couldn't she say "thank you" anyway?
And everytime Target clerks say "would you like to save an additional ??% by opening a Target card?" I say, "Yes to the first, no to the second." :sunny:
