Is this difficult to get if you request ahead of time? I heard these rooms are slightly bigger because of the corner configuration. I would need a 1Br. Has anyone requested these and gotten them? thanks

We have been lucky enough to get a corner room twice. The only requests I made were pool-view. They are wonderful rooms and really have a very different layout than the others. Both times our room was a dedicated 2br, so I am not sure if you could even get a one bedroom.

We really did like the room, but I have been in other dedicated and liked those a lot also.

Good Luck!

Are there any studios that have a pool view?

Yes, There are studios, 1br, and 2br that have a "pool view". The shorter hall way is the one that would have the pool view rooms. We have always been somewhere in that hall way. It is nice, not too far from elevators. VWL is not all that big anyway, so I would think even in the longer hall the walk is not too bad. We usually make our ressies at the 11 mos mark, and I request pool view and non-smoking. When we have made requests, we have always been lucky and had them met.

Actually I think our favorite room of all was one trip (Just DH and I and made no special requests) we were on ground floor on the short edge that faces the main Lodge itself. It was very quiet, and there was a side door for easy access outside. It was a very quick walk to the bus stop.

I love the location of the VWL, so I do not think there could hardly be a bad view(with the exception of the infamous dumpster view!).

The "dumpster view" is available with the very last room in the long hall! And I mean LOOOOONNNNNGGGG hall! We were the very, very last room in the long hallway. It is a long walk, especially with a little one in tow.

It did lead to a very funny incident though when my sister had had more than her share of included beer and sangria at the Hoop-Dee-Do. She decided to run down the hall to get to the room before the kids, fell, and skidded/bounced/skipped on her knees at least four times. MY BIL and I laughed so hard, we cried! Her knees were rug burned for the rest of the trip.

We requested pool view with a 2BR dedicated last January, with a Sunday check-in, and none were available. We ended up on the 5th floor almost at the very end of the hall.
