we are going from the 26th-29th march. everything is ready and booked.
was just curiously checking prices of our hotel online at the disney site to see if the prices have changed at all and these dates are unavailable at our hotel.
does this mean its going to be very busy? :confused3

I'm really sorry but I think you'll find that the weekend will be quite busy.

With Mickey's Magical Party due to start on the 4th April and Playhouse Disney Live! due to open I think that people will take a chance on there being 'soft' opening's of everything that weekend.

On the other hand, remember that if the Hotel is full on just one of those nights then it will tell you there is no avaliability for the whole trip. Last weekend both the Cheyenne and the Santa Fe were both totally full on the Saturday night, but had vacancies for Friday and Sunday.

Since the 28th is the press day for the new events, it will be very busy. I also booked to go at the same time before I knew about this so i know how you feel! However, plan for a busy park, accept you won't be able to do some things more than once perhaps and that some queues will be big, and perhaps we will be lucky enough to get some little extras. Jill Robinson was there at the start of the 15th celebrations and there were fantasic fireworks.....

When does everyone think the parks will start getting busy? We are going Tues-Fri of that week (24-27 March). Will the parks be slower earlier in the week? Thanks.

Yes I expect they will be slower in the week, although I haven't checked to see if it's a French holiday since it was the only time we could go anyway....

we'll just have to see when we get there i guess. its my 2nd trip to dlrp so i wont mind taking it easy and there is no real rush for us really but i do hope my sisters + son will make the most of it as its their first ever trip to disney. im excited as much as my 3 year old nephew is lol

All the hotels were fully booked during the press event in 2007, but this was also due to 2 large conferences being held on site so I was told by a CM at SL. Whilst it was busy we managed to do all the rides and had a break during the day, something we never normally do, but DS wasn't well. The weekend was nowhere near as busy as the Christmas weekend we had in Nov. 2007, it was just at certain times during the day some areas were off limits. :)

Actually I think it was just me and SandraVB79 who were fortunate to have been there then. :goodvibes

Yes sorry Jill, as soon as I got back this afternoon I realised it was you, and have edited my post!

That's alright I just thought the OP might go in search of a trippie and not find one. :goodvibes
I honestly think the pros will outweigh the cons on your trip though, you may even see some celebs there. :thumbsup2

Ah well, my thinking is it's unlikely to be any busier than just before Xmas, which we managed, and we couldn't have gone any other time anyway. Plus if you have to be there at a busy time where better to be staying than the DLH?! Even if the children can't stay up too late we could see any possible fireworks from the California Grill or Inventions!
