I am going from august 19- 21. Does anyone have any experience during this time. Please tell me it will not be busy lol. Also the 19th-21 is sunday through tuesday

I don't think it will be extremely crowded since many school districts go back
at the end of August. But it will be HOT, HOT, HOT and will probably rain at
least once a day(briefly). You will find that many, many people love to go at
this time. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

We are going at the same time. We go this time every uear. When we first started it was great! Like the other poster said, many kids are going back to school. But it seems like people are picking up on this great time to go. It has gotten a little busier but i is still a great time to go (if you can take the heat!) We have hardly ever had to wait on line in the parks (maybe 5-10 minutes for the popular rides)!

We are staying at SSR

Have fun and enjoy your trip!

thanks for the quick replies...as for the heat..not a problem...I grew up and still live in south florida so just give me a backpack with some water and im fine lol....the only thing i really care about is not having to wait 60+ minutes for space or splash mountain....I am also going to MK during extra magic hours on a sunday night...do you think that will make a difference or no

We actually found less crowds that week in August than in May! And we had a lucky week weather wise (a few years ago) and it was in the 80's all week. It was actually hotter home in PA!

I also will be down there during that same time. I have been there in late august before, and it was busy. Not the busiest I have seen but it was busy. it was very hott too.

It's always busy in WDW now. There is no way to avoid it. The weekends are the worse. We seldom even go into the parks on Saturdays now and if we do, it's only in the AM. With our UK friends getting free dining in August and our bounce back folks also getting free dining in August, that will increase the crowd level. Plus schools in the south are now going back later in August verus earlier like in the past. This will all affect the crowd level. I think September will be the worse ever this year since free dining was pretty much limited to that month only for the general public. I've already checked resort availability as I was going to make some resort changes and there is hardly anything available for values or mods for mid-August. We'll be there from August 15-24, a family of 11 and all ADRs are done! I would suggest you have your ADRs taken care of before you get there. I have my pounchos packed and my water misters ready. It will be HOT, HOT, HOT.

We were there a week after your dates last year for Magical Beginnings and it wasn't very busy at all. Getting on rides and seeing shows went without a hitch at all 4 parks. The only complaint we had was the heat & humidity. It was so hot that DD2 got a mild heat stroke/exhaustion  on the last day which was very scary since we were so far away from our pediatrician. Thankfully she recovered in the morning after she had some breakfast and the flight home went smoothly. Hopefully the weather will be much cooler this year. Have a great trip.:wizard:

I went with a friend of mine last year around (give or take a few days) the same time and it was great! A lot of schools are already back in session or the kids are getting ready to go back by then so the crowds were really light. The CM who checked me in said almost everyone she checked in that week was from NJ and NY where we go to back to school after labor day. On top of it I think some people may have put off their trip or canceled because there were warnings of a hurricane/tropical storm that week. It turned out just be a nasty storm one night and that was it after all of the hype! They canceled EMH at DAK the night it hit but otherwise things were normal. Also I had to make some last minute changes when we had to move our trip back a few days but had no problem getting ADRs for then even though it was during free dining. Its hot so drink lots of water but heat is much more tolerable when you can ride Splash Mountain several times in a row with little wait!

The past 2 years that was the week we went and it was great. Barely any lines, beautiful weather, and minimul crowds. Enjoy!
