Is it difficult to change ressies through AAA?

That's what I was told yesterday.

I called the AAA I used to book my package for this Dec. I decided to downgrade to a standard view to save a little money since we're not planning on looking out our resort room window that much anyway..

The once friendly woman who helped me sighed and told me it would be a lot of work to change a reservation. Then she asked if I was serious about going and if I wasn't going to pay for the entire trip. She said I didn't have much time left to pay it off. I must be paid in full in October. I've already paid 2/3 of my trip off.

I told the AAA employee that I would like to get a quote exactly the same as what I've booked except a standard view. If it was too much trouble I'll cancel and book elsewhere.

She told me she'd call me back as soon as she gets a quote. That was Monday morning. This is Tuesday afternoon. No call. No email. I called back after lunch only to get a voice mail.

When I booked with WDW directly I had no trouble adjusting my reservation, so what is up with this AAA employee?

Is it really that difficult to change my reservation to a standard view room so I can save a little money?

Or is she mad about the less commission she'll receive because I downgraded from Garden to Standard view?

No it isn't that difficult at all...its a phone call to Disney! Even the amount of commission she would be losing is minimal....I think she was just having a bad day!!!

Hoping I don't get the same runaround from my agent. We booked our trip last September for June 2007. I called today to change our park tickets from hoppers to the MYW basic. Unfortunately, my agent is out sick today so I left a message. Hope she isn't in a bad mood when she returns.

Not a problem at all. Our poor TA from AAA - I drove her crazy when we booked last year with changes and questions. It is asimple phone call. I booked our selves this year because Iwanted the control to change things myself.

She is afterall working for you. I would call back and see what the hold up was and if she hasn't done what you ask I would talk to the supervisor.

It's not difficult at all. I changed ours twice and our AAA rep was fabulous. :thumbsup2

Well, our first rep was pretty clueless, so I cancelled their booking and booked with the wonderful Michelle Shears out of the Carolina office - she was the fabulous one. :rotfl:

I love Michelle - she is the best. And I switched our ressies around so many times, it's a wonder she didn't reach through the phone and smack me - but she was always nice and understandable. If you get a bad AAA agent, call another AAA travel agency. You don't have to use your local ones.
