You're going to love it!!! Take all the magic and times it by 2!!! The decorations are fabulous! I don't know about you, but I love going to the malls and other places, just to look at the decor at Christmas time. Going to Disney, you see the BEST displays.:goodvibes

Yes I love malls at Christmas for the decorations only. I also have a tradition with my family where we drive around and look at Christmas displays and lights at people homes.

Disney and Christmas combined I am so excited I could scream. The wait is killing me.

Back in the day, this was the only reservation one had to make at the World. :rotfl:

Not anymore, boys and girls!!! As informed DIS readers, we KNOW that you must call at the 180 day mark to eat a steak at Canada or gorge out on meat-on-a-stick from the Tropics.

Well, today was MY day! 180 days is here! :yay:

I called, and everything went as planned with the exception of Le Cellier.

I asked for December 5. (181 days out) Party of 6.
8:40.

Nope... It might work for the rest of us, but Grumpy Grampy :earboy2: and StitchBoy :stitch2: just aren't going to be able to do it!

Ok... No problem. I am prepared, so lets just go with a reservation on December 9 instead. (185 days out)

8:20.

*gulp* I didn't prepare a third option. I quickly scan my list to find an additional day.

December 12. (188 days out)

Yeah!!! We have a winner!!! :yay:

Ok... So this is what I've reserved thus far:
Ohana
Le Cellier
Chef Mickey
Hoop Dee Doo
Whispering Canyon
Cape May
Crystal Palace

I was going to wait on the Crystal Palace reservation because it was at lunchtime and I figured it wouldn't be a problem. Um. I asked Carlotta (very nice lady at Disney Dining:goodvibes) and she said I should book this ASAP. So I did!

Now, I just have to keep on the lookout for the Candlelight dinners to go on sale. And I need to fill in the holes here and there.

Yeah! Planning is fun! :goodvibes

Love reading your pre-report!

Please give a fellow Dec Tripper some advice:idea:

We're on DDP & I am getting my ADR in order, but this trip is for ME:cheer2: Last trip (2005) I planned around kids, but this time I want to do things -- Namely Candlelight Processional -- Is the Dinner Procession Package worth the money for 12/14-12/21? Guess what I am saying is -- Recommend waiting in line & Paying $ with 4 folks who aren't choosing the processional or recommend waiting in LONG line to see processional & not spending extra $?

Thank you!

Well, first thing to consider; are you going to be on the DDP? If so, it costs 1 credit with or without the CP tacked on to the dinner. In that case, its a no-brainer!

If you are not going on the DDP, they will list the prices ahead of time for the packages. The packages are tiered, depending on the place where you eat. You might want to check out the menus on allears . net to see what you would eat and how it works out compared to the price. For example, I know that last year, we ended up going to the Fantasmic Dinner at the Brown Derby, and we paid something like $39 per person. When I evaluated the cost vs how much it would cost if we purchased all the items included individually (I believe it includes app, dinner, and dessert) it worked out that it was actually cheaper to buy the package!

I don't know if other people have found this to be true, but Le Cellier has always taken a long time to eat at, and so I am going to avoid that on CP day. I don't want to be late!

Have a very nice time this December! I'm sure you will love it! My son is not nuts about going to the CP either, but I told him he has to do this for Momma! :goodvibes He finds it a bit dry (i.e. no laughs present). I just explained that is counts as going to church while at WDW!

I know, I know, this isn't my PT Report but wanted to share my 2 cents. We waited in the line for teh Candlelight Processional. It ended up being so filled up with the guests who done the package that 2 people in front of us got in, then us. Thats it. No one else.

We are about 6 months away from our trip to Disney now! So, in the meantime, what’s a Disney fan stuck in Michigan supposed to do? How will she make it that long until she gets her Disney-fix?

I know! Go to Frankenmuth, Michigan!!!

Frankenmuth is a charming little touristy German town here in Michigan. If you imagine hard enough, you can pretend your in Epcot!

The Bavarian Inn. Serving very yummy chicken and Wiener schnitzel!
BavarianInn2.jpg

Now, this weekend happens to be the Bavarian Festival in Frankenmuth. It’s kind of a cross between a carnival and a beer tent. :drinking1 And there’s a parade too!!!

Disney has parades! Frankenmuth has parades! See the connection?:goodvibes Here, let me show you some of the parade.

Here we have the Donald Duck float! (Yes, please use your imagination. We are PRETENDING here!)
BigDuck.jpg

And next? Why, it’s the whole crew from The Little Mermaid! The float was even playing “Under the Sea”!

Now, in Frankenmuth, we don’t have princess: princesses, we have queens! Beauty queens, that is.

No, that’s not Cinderella in her lovely blue ballgown. That’s Miss Blueberry!
MissBlueberry.jpg

Snow White? Nope! Wrong again. It’s Miss Tip-up-town from Houghton, Michigan!
TipUpTown.jpg

Other various royalty was also present: Miss Sugar, Miss Beaverton, and don’t forget the Bean Queen! :rotfl:

Good times were had by all! :dance3:

I love Frankenmuth, I never miss a chance to go, it never gets old. I have never been to a parade though. Bronners is my favorite Christmas store in the world. Canterbury Village tried to recreate that, it's nice, but no Frankenmuth or Bronners. It's our tradition to eat at Zenders, what about you?

Thanks for posting pics of the parade.

Yep, Zenders is our place of choice too! ::yes:: In fact, we sat in front of it during the parade.

Bronners is such a fantastic place!:goodvibes It puts any other Christmas store to shame! Even the one at Downtown Disney can't come close to competing!

Sorry to say, but it's true, there isn't a Christmas store better than Bronners, not even at Disney! You make me miss home.

Come back and visit! We miss you here too! :goodvibes

I think our next camping excursion is planned for July 20th. Going to Port Huron for the weekend.

We have Grand Haven scheduled for the middle of August. Yeah, camping! We love it!

We used to go camping at Fort Wilderness, but the campers are older now and the gas is much more expensive, so we have to pretend we're in Disney!

I want to come back so bad. I have to save my pennies.

My sister has a trailer in Tawas, we usually have a sisters weekend there and then spend a day in Oscoda canoeing the Asauble River (forget the spelling) I miss those days. A few years ago we went to the UP to Taqumenon Falls, Gorgeous! Michigan is so beautiful!

Hi Cici. Thanks for the comment on my fur babies. I noticed your trip report in your sig and had to come read it. LOVE IT! We will be at the world from 12/6-12/10, maybe we will run into each other. :wizard:

PS how far are you from Frankenmuth? We are planning a trip in a couple of weeks(I'm about four hours away). I haven't been in a while, it's so magical there.

This is my official first pre-trip report here! OK...Its my first official started thread, period!:) In June, I will be able to call and make all those lovely ADR's. I know we would like to do the Candlelight Processional Dinner. We are also a Hoop-Dee-Doo family! Oh yes, let's not forget Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! :santa:I look forward to sharing the planning with each of you! Its nice to know that I'm not the only person in this world who devotes so much energy to dreaming and planning a trip to WDW!

My DH and I will be there 12/8/ - 12/15. I just got my ressie for 12/10 CP this morning. We'll be eating at LeCellier at 4:30 before the CP show at 6:45. Have you gotten your ressie yet? Also, I purchased tickets for MVMCP for 12/13. :santa: I haven't started my pre-trip report yet as I figured I'd drive everyone as crazy as I've driven my husband with my "incessant planning". :rolleyes1
