Is it correct that you can't get the dining plan and use Fl resident rates for hotel?

I have the free dining in Sept. I want to add on a night prior to coming in. No go. So I asked that my entire reservation be redone with the Fl resident rate and I will just pay for dining for me and dd. They said no you can't do that. You can't get a room only and then add on dining. So I asked to add on a ticket (just like I did for the free dining). Told no way. Not sure what they are looking for. Any ideas on the best way to fix this?

Um, pay rack rate for the first night, with no Dining Plan? It sounds like there are no rooms available with the Florida Resident rate. If I'm wrong and there ARE rooms available with that discount, again, just book it without the Dining Plan.

Yes it is true. You can not add the dining plan to a room only special. The dining plan must be purchased as a package. The current FL and AP rates are ROOM ONLY rates.
