IF it is space saver bags, is it the samsonite space saver ones or the space saver vacuum space bags?
TIA

Kathy

we use the space saver bags all the time and it really helps with packing and when the airport security goes through your bags they just see the big bag in your suitcase and just about pass it over. I can pack just so much more in the suitcase and just take the bag to the closet and unload the stuff.
We use the bags that you roll the air out of vents at the bottom. You can find them at target and walmart. Can't figure out how you would pack on the return trip with the vacume type bags.

I used zip locks for our first two trips. The gallon size work great for a kid's shorts outfit. I did get a pack of the two gallon size for the grown ups stuff as well.

We've gotten a bunch of the roll up bags as "gifts" from our credit card company. I've had problems with them blowing out, but I have used them for local travel.

I liked the convenience of the bags because the kids are already matched, and no question of where's my socks, etc. Even with the ziplocks, it does make lots more space.
Good luck, and have a great trip.

Kathy, we used space savers on our last trip and the convenience of the extra space in the luggage was great!
However, I think I might have over filled some of the bigger bags, because we had wrinkle problems. :( But overall, I'd definitely use them again.

Space Saver bags are great to use, but that can get you into weight trouble! It is so deceiving because of the lack of air, you can easily OVERPACK! Make sure your suitcase is not overweight if you are flying. The airlines have very strict weight restrictions now and WILL make you unpack right there in the airport if you are overweight. (Your suitcase that is). I do believe on a domestic flight the weight limit is 50 lbs. That's not really very heavy, especially if you are carrying a beaded gown or two! So, just don't be fooled by all that extra space! Be careful of the weight and call your airlines to double check!

I think it all depends who is in the clothes when the rolling takes place. :teeth:

LOL Takemeaway,

Just remember one thing ... what you pack to take is not all that you will pack to bring home.

Leave room for the "stuff". I always bring a nearly empty suitcase for the return. Our first cruise we had to go to the ship's store to buy more luggage.
:smooth:

I had another thought (scary isn't it?).

Don't take a lot of clothes and plan to wash some while onboard. There is a laundry room on some of the decks (deck 7 aft is one).

This will also save you room to bring home more "stuff".

I recommend the 2 or 2.5 gallon zip lock bags if you can find them.

I have use the packing bags made by various companies and find them all to be pretty cheaply made. After a few trips they all seem to leak air. Ziplocks are cheaper and work just as well

We just returned from our trip yesterday. We rolled our clothes and used the 1-2.5 gal. Ziploc bags, which worked great! I will now use them for every trip, they were so handy!! ::yes::
