Is it bad to wear an anniversary badge if it's not quite your anniversary?

I love wearing the buttons and pins and everything when we go to Disney! But due to our jobs this year we have to go about two months before our actually anniversary. But we do consider this our anniversary vacation. I feel a little weird about it and I'm not sure about getting them this time. Just was curious about everyone's thoughts on the matter

There are all kinds of people who celebrate an occasion ( anniversary, birthday, graduation, marriage) who can't be there on their actual dates. But if you are celebrating for whatever reason, then its perfectly okay to wear your button! Have a great trip.

One of our trips was for our 25 th anniversary. The fact that it was 3 months late because DH had been deployed to the Arabian Sea didn't change the fact that we were celebrating an important milestone in our lives.

I plan on wearing a birthday button even though it will be 2 weeks past my birthday!! No one needs to know your actual date! You're still celebrating your anniversary, just a little early!! Enjoy!

On one trip I was wearing two buttons, it was halfway between my birthday and our anniversary, but that was the week we could go. Disney does not yet have the technology on the Magicbands to determine if it is really your birthday/anniversary. Eventually took the buttons off because I got tired of CMs congratulating me everywhere I went.

I am planning on celebrating my sons 8th birthday while we are there and our 19th wedding anniversary. Would you wear the buttons just one day or every day??

I celebrated my anniversary a few days early there, and this time I'll be celebrating my birthday my whole next trip, even if I can't be there on my actual birthday. I'm trying to figure out if I can wear my bday pin all week, or just pick one day. I want to add it to like every adr I have! haha

We celebrated our 25th anniversary (Oct. 1st) in May two years ago because my wife wanted to see the Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT. I wore my anniversary button almost the whole week because that's what we were celebrating. We got a few little sprinkles of pixie dust, i.e. a couple of free deserts, plus a whole lot of people congratulating us. Go ahead and wear your button proudly.

We will be at WDW a couple weeks after our anniversary and a couple days after my birthday, I will definitely wear my pins! It's still a celebration trip so I think it's fine!

My boyfriend and I will be at Disney Aug 12-19. His birthday is on Aug 30, and since at the moment we're living in different states, this was our opportunity to celebrate his birthday. When I called to arrange for our transportation to and from the airport, the CM on the phone asked if we were celebrating anything. I explained the situation and he said that it was no issue we were celebrating early, and there would be a button when we arrived. I think they understand that not everyone can be there on actual anniversaries, birthdays, etc. and are just glad you're spending your special time with them!

You are celebrating your anniversary, do not feel weird about it. People do it all the time. Not everyone can get to WDW on the exact day of whatever the are celebrating. I actually saw someone wearing an unbirthday button, which I thought was funny. This year I will be there 11/12-11/20 and my b'day is the 22nd. Last year they had a button there when I checked in and I was there the last week of October. I may wear it once or twice if they have one for me again, there were some fun comments and things, but I am actually very shy and can only "take" so much attention. Last year, on the second day, after one of the bag check guys had the entire line singing Happy Birthday, I had to take it off. Lol. I think I was as red as the bow on my Minnie ears.

If you want the attention, wear the button. If you want to be on the "down low", then don't wear it! Our son REFUSED to wear his last year but then he is in those years where attention is the LAST thing he wants!

My husband and I wore anniversary buttons when celebrating our first date. That was fun and we got to tell our story a few times. I also went with some friends and created our own special buttons which got attention from the CMs (do we have those - I've never seen them). When one of my friends left her button at the room, a CM made her a button so we would all have one.

Do what you like and phooey on those who aren't in a magical frame of mind!

Of course you can! I recently just celebrated my birthday in May, even though my actual birthday is in February. Due to college classes and I knew I'd have work to do over Spring Break we couldn't go until May for my birthday trip. By the end of the week I stopped wearing the button because the "happy birthdays" started getting annoying.

Next year we're celebrating our 5 anniversary almost 6 months after the actual date.

It will be our anniversary when we go next year and plan on wearing it all week. Whenever you are celebrating I think it's fine to wear it

We are celebrating 3 birthdays, our anniversary, and my husbands 1st trip when we go in October. The only think that is actually happening while we are there is my husbands 1st trip. We have forgone all the celebrations for the other occasions in order for myself, my DH, and my Mom to go and enjoy the F&W Festival and MNSSHP. So I say wear you buttons and celebrate away!

Happy to hear all the positive responses! We are celebrating our 10th anniversary and our daughter's 7th birthday a bit late and I was worried we wouldn't be able to partake.

DH & I Disneymooned at WDW 40 years ago in 1975. We will be celebrating that Disneymoon again this December. 40 years is turning into a year long celebration!
