Is it a bad decision to skip EMH?

So....here is my story. We will be staying onsite and in the parks on Friday, 11/6 and Saturday 11/7. I was really thinking I would like to avoid going to DL on Saturday (higher crowds and possible Christmas parade taping- but mostly higher crowds). That would put us in CA on Saturday and DL on Friday. We would be at the parks without EMH with this scenario. We will not have park hoppers. Last thing to add...we do not like to get up too early, though have used EMH at each park once. Anyone have any opinions/thoughts to share regarding this plan? Thank you so much!

I REALLY love using the EE from staying onsite, however.... I don't think the crowds will be too terrible then (still before most of the holiday decor is officially up) so that will help with worrying about the crowds. We are also early risers but waking up that early always makes even us tired, so if you aren't early morning people EE is rough. I would say if you want to do the schedule without the EE do it- it will leave you feeling less tired, more able to be waiting for rope drop and you won't hopefully have to battle much crowds due to the time of year. You can always change your mind closer to the day of and go for it

I love EMH too but only you know if it is worth it to you to get up that early. From what I've read (and I could be wrong) the Christmas parade taping is on Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th and then possibly on Sunday the 8th (if needed). So your plan doesn't help you get away from the Christmas taping. Fridays and Saturdays are always busy. EMH at CA is awesome! EMH at Disneyland isn't as good because everyone with a Magic Morning ticket can go too. I'd probably use it since you'll be there on the weekend but you can definetley get by without it especially if you're able to stay at the parks into the night.

I don't think it's that big of a loss.
Almost half the park (the best half IMO) is closed off anyway.

This is one of those situations in which you need to do what's best for you & your group. Just because lots of people recommend to take advantage of EMH doesn't mean that you have to use EMH. It IS an awesome perk of staying onsite. BUT this is YOUR vacation. If you want to sleep in...then do that! I think your plan sounds just fine!

I think Fridays are much slower in the morning into the afternoon, but pick up a ton at night when locals get off work. Saturdays are usually busy from mid-morning on.

While it's hard to manage EMH at 7:00 for my group, we still try really hard to do it. You can get sooooo much done in that hour (if you skip Peter Pan), it's worth it, but not if you're going to struggle later because of it.

We will be there at the same time. The EMH on Saturday will likely be 7 or 8 am, but the EMH on Friday may be 8 or 9 am. I don't think the times have been released yet.

We also have a hard time rushing in the morning. I realized that daylight savings time ends on Nov 1 this year so getting up in the a.m. may be a bit easier that week if you live in the same time zone as DLR. We live in CA and my kids like to get up about 7:30. They usually wake up around the same time as usual the first week after a time change, so they'll probably be up closer to 6:30 that first week of Nov when our trip is, thus making showing up for EMH easier.
