...to make ADRs if you aren't the one who made the room reservation? DH's parents are very generously taking us to WDW this summer and we would like to surprise them with a nice meal to show our appreciation.

(I tired checking it out on Disney's site, but it kept making my computer freeze )

You can make reservations 180 days out from the date of the dining reservations. It doesn't have to be associated with the room reservation. You'll just give your phone number and e-mail address.

Echo previous post- Anyone can make an ADR...regardless of whether you are staying on-site or not. They aren't connected to a room reservation. Other than signature dining experiences, where they may ask for a deposit, when you make a regular dining reservation its just the same as calling a restaurant in your hometown to make a reservation.
