Based on some great advice on this board, I am planning on spending our first full day in Orlando at IOA/US on Sun 10/3. Insiders have noted the park crowds to be very manageable on Sundays.............now I see Universal has extended hours (open till 8PM) on this day! Is this just a fluke, or is there something else going on I should be aware of? I can also do IOA on Mon 10/4 or Thurs 10/7. Please quell my paranoia if you have any insight into these later hours (10/2 and 10/3).

Where are you looking at the calendar?

On the official site it says on Sunday, Oct. 3 IOA is closing at 6:00 and Universal at 7:00 PM.

The reason that some of the days in October that Univer./IoA are closing an hour earlier at 6:00 PM is because Halloween Horror Nights are on those days. On the nights that they don't have HHN, Universal is open until 7:00 which is the normal non-peak hours.

I think Saturday the 2nd will be fairly busy due to the number of Stay and Scream guests for HHN. Sunday should not be too bad, I hope.

Phantom,

As always, you are correct. I was looking at the official schedule, first Sunday in SEPTEMBER 2004.................I am a sleep deprived zombie! Thanks for pointing this out. To IOA on 10/3!:hyper:

Early Sunday morning is fine, as most sleep in and go to church. I'm also going to IOA on the 3rd for a couple hours. I'll be at the front of the gate for some front seat rides on Hulk and Deuling Dragons. I'll be leaving at 11am as the crowd arrives.

Hi Phantom and Motherfletcher :wave2:,

Any thoughts on why the schedule shows Universal Studios closing at 6pm on Tuesday, October 12? Looking at the HHN website, that date isn't listed as a HHN night.

Hi Motherfletcher,

Thanks for the reply. I suspected that could be the reason but was hoping that it was just a typo on their calendar.

More than likely they have an event scheduled that night. A company or group has probably rented out the park that night and that is why they are closing early.
