Is Hoop Dee Doo appropriate/fun for a young 3 year old?

My son will be just 3 when we go - we are doing to the deluxe plan so are looking for some 2 credit options, our first choice was the backyard bbq but it is booked but Hoop Dee Do has 7:15 availability which is a good time for us. But since our son is so young I dont want him to be bored - he is decent about sitting at restaurants (and he is still 2 now) I just want to make sure he will like it and have fun.

I don't think he'll be bored. The singing and dancing will appeal and most young kids love to beat on the washboard. One year there was a screaming infant at the next table. Thought he'd ruin it for everyone. Once the show started, he qot quiet except for giggling. Bet he loves the food too.

Absolutely appropriate and fun. There's always something going on to keep their attention and the food is totally kid friendly. My boys would have loved the fried chicken when they were 3 (it's still one of their favorite meals at 25 and 27 lol). I just recommended the show to a co-worker who's taking her children and grandchild (3 yrs old) this fall. DH and I have been once and are going again in Oct. There were all ages in the show and everyone had a great time. I think it's the best dinner show at WDW.

Our daughter was three when we went a few years ago and she did fine through it. She enjoyed the singing and dancing and especially the washboards at the end!

Absolutely! Our youngest was 2 1/2 last year and loved it. All three of our kids as well as my husband have insisted on going back this year. Probably the best night of our trip. Ironically, I made our reservation today for Oct. and asked about seating. Since we are on the dining plan, only category 2 or 3 is available for the 5 and 7 pm shows. The same held true last year. Our table (even with an anniversary listed on our reservation), was literally in the worst seat in the house. The very back..next to the door and service station. Like I said, we still had a GREAT TIME. That being said, I wanted to see if we could be in the front of cat. 2..she said to pick up your tickets EARLY at check in. Didn't realize that had any bearing on where we were seated within the category..but apparently is does. Last year I picked up my tickets that morning from the concierge, so it makes sense that we had less than ideal seating. Just wanted to pass that on for everyone going.

speaking from experience, go go go! :)

my son will be 4 in a few weeks. He LOVED the show at 18 months when we went back in 2009. I have pics on the review below where you see him attached to the balcony railing just absorbed in what was going on on the stage. This was the entire show (we prefer the 715 time). We are going back with our 2 boys--the baby will be 19 months during our trip--in August. And knowing my youngest he will love it as much or more so.

Hope you decide to try it :)

We haven't been to HDDR in a long time because our pre-teens are no longer into the show (and it's costly for pre-teen "Disney adults.") But we took our oldest as young as 18 months and 2.5 years old and he LOVED it then!! He liked all the food, and he loved the napkin waving and making noise with the washboards. The whole environment was lively, energetic and loud - perfect! I know the food gets mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it. And the sangria was great, too! :)

Have a great trip!
