Is Hollywood Studios now worth a full day?

We went in April last year for our first family trip. We went to Hollywood Studios only because my son was really into Star Wars. We did the jedi training which was worth the one experience for him but I don't want to do it again because it took up a lot of time. My 2yo daughter didn't have much to do at Hollywood and spent the entire morning sleeping in the stroller.

Also, RNR and ToT down the entire day! Toy Story was down to one track with a massive line and no FP. The character lines were all super long because of the rides being down.

So, while we absolutely loved our trip and are planning a second for May of 2019 I am unsure if we should dedicate a day to Hollywood again. My husband can't do upside down rides and he's not sure if ToT is good for his stomach. My son will be 48" though, is RNR too much for a 6.5 yo? He did OK on Everest.

Does Toy Story make Hollywood now make Hollywood worthwhile for us?

If you can ride everything, strategically book your fastpasses, and slip in a dinner ADR, sure! It's much better than it was, and keeps improving! Your husband can't do upside down, well I can't go backwards it seems, Everest is a once and done for me, just as TOT was, yet RNR is ok as long as I haven't imbibed anything! LOL

It's the one park I can skip or just plan a short day. That being said, there is plenty to see and do if it all appeals to you. When rides are down and lines are long, that is unfortunate.
Now with some new recent attractions, I'm willing to give it an all day mind set.

I think you will find enough to do to justify spending a full day there. Beauty and the Beast, Frozen Sing Along, Little Mermaid and Muppets shows are all fun and take up a good chunk of time. (And out of the sun) Those shows along with an ADR and a few rides and there is your day! That's not even considering Toy Story Land, which is fun and the best time to visit is at night when everything lights up.

It's always been a full day for my family and especially now with TSL it will continue to be. The character lines aren't usually that long, seems like you caught it on a bad day.

Depends on the group of people. It’s always been a full day park for some. Not much has actually closed when you think about it. Then add in TSL. For some though, a few hours has always been enough.

For my wife and I, even when The Backlot Tour and Great Movie ride were open, we've always been fine leaving HS after about 4 hours.

It will depend on your group and what you want to ride and see

with the EMM, it's not worth the full day for me because you're done with TSL by 9, then you can rope drop ToT and RnR, then go to Star Tours still with low wait, then you can watch the stage shows. You'll be done by noon

I always considered it worth a full day.

Right. Whether it's a full day park depends on if you like what it has to offer. AK, Epcot or even MK can be a half day park if you're not interested in the attractions it has. For example, I spend 2-3 hours in the World Showcase and I'm done. So I know it's a generic answer, but look at all the attractions HS has. If you like them, then go. The shows are fun, TSL is cool, so I always like going there...plus RnR is my favorite ride.

It's not a full day park for us, even with TSL. We do a few shows and all the rides, but just don't love the overall atmosphere as the other parks. We're usually done in HS by around 2-3pm.

If you get there at rope drop or EMH and plan fast passes strategically you can probably bang that park out in 3-4 hours.

MK is a 3 day park for us! lol

Anyways, maybe we just had a bad experience on our day at HS.

Always been a full day for us. If you did all of the shows, some rides, and had lunch it may be a full day. Just planning shows is a lot of the day the way they are spaced.

For me, personally, I get everything done that I want to do in a half day.

If you plan FP+ and Rope Drop, most of the things are doable in half a day.

As others have said, it's always been a full day or 1.5 day park for me and my family, but we spend only a few hours at AK. It really just depends on which attractions interest you.

I don’t see parks and attractions as things to “get done.” We love HS. It has the best vibe of all the parks to me. This is not a popular opinion, but I really couldn’t care less what anyone else thinks. We don’t even do all of the shows and we still spend a lot of time there.

If your only concern is getting in rides then sure you will be ready to go in a few hours. We enjoy the atmosphere at HS. It’s my favorite park to slow down and take it all in.

It's always been a full day park for me. Easily. There's so much to do there! And I haven't even been since TSL opened.

Your 2 year old didn't like the Little Mermaid show, or the Disney Junior show? Or was that closed in April?

Maybe not a full day park, but it does have an amazing show at the end of the day that your StarWars fan will really enjoy. My wife & I like that show the best. We really don't have a full day there, but it will be a park from open to close with so much to do. We will probably leave during the middle of the day and return to see TSL lit up, wander the park under iights, and see the StarWars closing fireworks & projections. ALSO - we have found the Frozen Show to be super entertaining when it is the last show of the day. The actors seem to let loose just a little extra.
