Hi..I'm staying at Liki Tiki on a time share exchange, and thus only booked a week there; however, we're staying 9 nights (made prior air reservations). They want $199 a night for the remaining two nights for a 2 BR condo.

I was thinking of booking the Hard Rock for those two nights. It seems to get raves on the boards, and I can get a room-not a 2 BR condo!- for $229 per night.

Is it worth it? I figure we'll do Universal those days..we LOVE those parks..especially the original Universal Studios.

Thanks for any input...

Lisa

p.s. You may recognize me from other posts..we originally were staying in HIFS, but my mom gave me a week of her time share, so who could refuse :p

Thanks....

Heck, the front of the line priviledge alone is well worth the splurge, making it possible for you to enjoy all rides and attractions in two or three days, giving you more bang for the buck!

Have you checked their AAA, Fan Club, or Entertainment Card rates? You may be able to beat that.

Also, check on the Universal Board for more help.

Good luck!

Lisa,

The Entertainment rate is usually the cheapest. As sbclifton says, check out the Universal forum for more info. There's a thread near the top called 'List your date and rate', or something similar.

You won't be disappointed. Staying onsite will make such a difference to your Universal experience. Everything is within walking distance of everything else and HRH is way cool! Have fun.

Hi Debbie..unfortunately, Entertainment rates were booked up when I called. THanks for th tip, though!

The Hard Rock definitely is worth it, it is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. My wife and I stayed there in September of 2001 and found it to be wonderful. I believe it opened in January of 2001 so everything still looked so new and fresh and luxurious. We paid the Entertainment rate (around $120 I believe), plus if you go on the Loew's Hotel wesbsite and sign up to become a member (free of charge) you can get an automatic upgrade to a pool view room (if available, which for us it was), plus you can choose a gift at check-in (I believe the choices are, a bottle of wine, milk and cookies, or fruit). Just more to add to the whole experience. Give it a try I don't think you'll be disappointed! Good luck!

I just checked for my trip in May and couldn't for the life of me get less than $183 a night... UGH! I'll keep trying though!

As everyone has noted this hotel is worth it! I LOVED it! The Universal Express perk is worth every dime also. I like to tack a stay onto the end of my trip because, remember, one night equals two days of UE! If you've ever done the parks that way you will NEVER want to do it anyway else!

It's a FIVE MINUTE walk from USf. That is the other major plus!

Let us know what you decide!
