Is H&V twice in a day worthwhile?

My DD3 is a big Disney jr fan so I booked H&V breakfast. Now I have a Minnie Christmas dinner there as well for that evening. I'm definitely keeping the Minnie dinner. Is the H&V breakfast worthwhile for the characters? Should we just wait in a meet and greet line instead? We're also going to attend the Disney Jr Dance party during EMH that night. I want to make sure she gets to meet the Disney Jr characters. My plan now is an 8 am breakfast, a few rides and shows, back to the resort for a nap, and back for supper with Minnie and dance party.

my only consolation is free dining so at least I'm not paying for the meals. I've been worried about the food. Haven't heard good things. I think I'll cancel breakfast and hope to see the characters at the dance party or at a character meet and great. The Christmas party is such a good chance to see 5 characters in one meal, plus we need the fantasmic tickets. I can choke down one bad meal.

FWIW, I'm pretty much a food snob and I think the H&V breakfast is fine. It's no different from any other Disney breakfast buffet. We always take 8:00 ADRs, though, so the food is fresh.

As others have said the food is mediocre at best, do once is even pushing it let alone twice. If your child likes the Disney jr crowd all but handy manny have traditional meet and greets. Additionally doc and Sofia are usually at the dance party.

I'll be the voice of dissent - we are eating there twice to see both sets of characters also (different days).

Haven't tried breakfast there, but lunch wasn't bad (not spectacular but decent, and way better than Chef Mickey!).

We didn't think the lunch was too bad. Nothing to write home about, but I've had worse. I would never do 2 buffets in one day though.

A root canal is a better experience than Chef Mickey. :rotfl2:

To the OP. Once in a lifetime at H&V is once too many times... Seriously, breakfast is ok, but there is no way I would go there for lunch or dinner, especially if I already had breakfast there.

Another factor will be park hours. I have an 8 am ADR for Dec 24. Last year HS opened at 8 am so there's no advantage to my early ADR. I'd rather grab a granola bar and be in line at TSMM at 8 am.

Sorry, but you are paying for the food!

It's not "Free" It's a discount off the package price. If they marketed it as a 30% discount folks would probably quit buying but attach the word "free" an suddenly it's a good deal to pay full price for Disney hotels (which are so overpriced it's hysterically funny) because "free dining" was attached LOL!

you are so correct! Plan A was rent a DVC and buy plan. This popped up, and is $300 more than Plan A. At least I get mousekeeping every day, and can cancel if I need to. I was nervous about not being able to cancel.

We're not going to manage to make the Dance party during our trip, so we're doing breakfast at H&V instead. I've heard meh things, but I've been to plenty of meh buffets before and as long as my kids will enjoy it, it's worth it.
