Is GRR at DCA longer than KRR at AK??

Both rides were designed by Intamin, so they clearly are at the very least similar. But Kali seats 12 and GRR seats 8. They were built a couple of years apart so I have to wonder if they didn't use a lot of Kali in GRR but still tweaked and changed a few things. They even say on their website that no two raft rides they have built have been exactly the same. But maybe since they are both Disney and and Disney wanted to save some bucks, they are?!

Oh well, no matter, they are both fun but I still stand by my opinion that GRR is much better. It runs faster and the spinning drops are much funner.

One thing we all seem to agree on is that GRR is more fun. :thumbsup2
I never did think the conservationist logging camp fire thing was done well or even translated it's real meaning to the rider. I thought that for those of us fans, who knew what it was supposed to be, felt it was forced and preachy in it's existence.

I not completely sure I stand corrected, but out of curiosity, what are you counting as the "other drop" in GRR. That little oomph that gets you off the lift hill? I really don't see other drops in that ride - and I'm fairly certain that KRR has an "oomph drop" to push the raft, too. But - that could be another perspective thing, too, huh....:confused3 ;)

Guess the only thing to truly resolve this is to find somebody's homemade You Tube videos and time them from drop to end to see if they match. :flower3:

Nancy, there are two definite drops on GRR. The first one as I recall is maybe longer than the second? I for one am not referrring that little thing where you first come down. I want to say the first one is where the camp portion/theming thing is. Its been over a year since I rode. But I do know there are two drops.

I wouldn't have had the slightest idea what the heck they were doing on Kali if I hadn't seen some travel channel special before my first WDW trip! I do enjoy the parts where you go through the rain forest but not so much the rest of it.

You're right, youtube is probably the way to confirm it all!

Okay - completely corrected - I should have reverified by You Tube first. I apologize, as I don't know how I blanked the short drop through the cave at GRR. I'll blame it on having toddlers.... yeah! That's it!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Well, I happen to have it on good authority that toddlers can be blamed for everything!!!:rotfl:

My "toddlers" are 12 and 14 and I still blame them for all my brain malfunctions!
