Is GAD ticket paper?

We are planning to use our GAD opportunity to get tickets. We will not be staying at a WDW hotel because we have 5 in our family. We plan to upgrade our tickets to 6 day fun and more. Will we receive paper tickets? What happens if they get wet or ripped or lost during the trip?

Disney does not use paper tickets. What people think is paper is a compound that includes Tyvek. If you try to tear them you will find it almost impossible.

If they get wet they will dry out and work, unless you peel off the magnetic strip while they are soaked. If they get creased, the magnetic stripe will probably not work but the bar code on them will still be readable for the turnstiles.

And if you mess them up really badly as long as the serail number can be read they can be replaced (at no charge).

As CF said, they are tough. Ours, er, went swimming at BB and were still fine.

I start the trip taking a pic of the back of all the tickets with my digital camera. Should any get lost/etc, I've got all the numbers right there.

I agree, take copies of your tickets so if something happens to them, they can be replaced!
