Is Friday nights normally crowded at Osborne Lights?

When I went last year in Dec my sister went with her family to the Osborne lights on a Saturday night and she was telling me how crazy busy it was but when I went the next night it was totally uncrowded. I am planning my trip for Dec with my DH and I am thinking we will do MGM on the Friday we are there but I am unsure if it will be crowded as my husband hates crowds and I wouldn't feel that he could get the "full effect" of the lights with a crowd.

I've never seen so many people in my life. It sounds like it would be "fun" but really it's just a herd of masses.

We went on a Friday night last year and it was very busy. A "herd" is probably a good way to describe it, but it's also set up differently. I miss the past years when it was on the back lot--it was a little more spread out plus we ate dinner at MM's at 6:00 and walked it "empty" at 7:15 which was awesome.

It's kinda more like a "Las Vegas" style display of lights this year, the prior years were really neat as you felt like you were walking through a real neighborhood.

Tried to have dinner and walk it after this past year, but MM's closed early and the Osborne Light's were packed, don't know if we'll make that a "must do" this year, may just skip it.

Is it going to be different than last year? It was the only time I have ever seen them. I may just plan Thursday night to go see the lights then head to Epcot for EMH PM. I don't want to be part of a herd!! LOL
