Is "first available" a possible request?

I know DVC villas are generally ready later in the day than regular resort rooms, but has anyone has had luck with calling MS and asking for "first available" to be put on reservation notes? I really don't care which room I get, but I'd rather have it ready earlier rather than later. I already did online check in via MDE and didn't put anything in for a request. I also put 7:30 AM as my "arrival time." I know rooms get assigned 5 days out, but I didn't know if MS could add to my reservation that I just want the first available room on check in day.

Would I just be better off stopping by the front desk when we arrive? We're at OKW if it matters. In the past at OKW I've always requested where I want to stay, bc that's been important to us, but on this trip, we're only there for one night, and I'd love to get into our room early, if possible. At OKW, I've always requested a specific building or area, and I've had rooms ready as early as 8 AM, as late as 5 PM, and a few things in between...doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason, but luck of the draw, I guess.

Thanks!

First a available used to be a room request when you did online checkin. I looked for it a couple of weeks ago and it wasn’t there anymore.

We had 2 short stays bookending a Disney cruise earlier this month and we just went to the front desk and asked for first available. It worked at the BWV, but not at CCV.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to call and add the request!

Checking my January SSR stay.

Under Room Location Request there is a box that says

Yeah. I did do that. But first I had to make at least one other request. So I just checked "ground floor" for a request and then checked the box that said "arriving early? check here if you would prefer to have the first available room."

I might still put a call in to MS just bc it can't hurt :-)

Thanks!

Several times upon arrival they have asked us if we wanted to get a room right away, or wait for our request to be filled. I always choose the request, as we usually go to the parks. But, I always thought it was nice that they have asked when I check in.

Youre saying “I want this, but ignore that if you have anything else available” when you checked those boxes. And that’s correct. I think you’ve already done it right.

If MS puts in anything that could be remotely seen as different, it could mess it up. Now, they do default to what online checkin says, so you have that going for you, but Disney customer service is a weird thing, and their systems are weird, so IMO any second contact could, in fact, hurt.

Its there. I just use the feature last weekend for a last minute trip and our room was available at 10:30 a.m. When you are in the section to select the room location there is a message below that ask if you want a first available room option.
