Just want to add my 2cents - I agree that Fantasmic is overrated. It was neat, but none of my family is in a hurry to do that again - we also prefer Wishes and Illuminations. (And Beauty & the Beast, and the new action/stunt show, and the Ariel show...) It was really the most difficult part of our 10-day stay - the crowd was awful, it was a looong haul to the theater, and my youngest got scared (she is 4) We will probably do it again one day, but not on our upcoming trip.
Animal Kingdom - we used to do it in 1/2 a day, but now our kids are old enough to ride the rides, are interested in seeing all the animals, and like the characters and parade too. There is so much to see, and so much detail that many miss there. "It's Tough to be a Bug" is our favorite 3-D show - don't miss it!

when someone says they were done at AK in a couple of hours. I just don't get it. I love that place!
I think AK is 2nd only to MK.
Honestly, I wouldn't pay an extra $42 for Fantasmic. You can go check out some of the entertainment on the Boardwalk and watch the fireworks from IllumiNations from the bridge to Epcot from BW. There are also lots of restaurants there.
But if you are going to have regrets that you missed going, then go.
