Is express pass necessary in Mid-May?

DUring our last WDW trip in March 2005, we spent one day at Universal and IOA and did everything we wanted in both parks. We would like to do the same for our upcoming trip and plan on spending a weekday (probably a Tuesday, if that matters) there. How are the crowds this time of year? DO you think it's worth it to get the Express pass since we want to do both parks in one day?

During our trip in 2004, DH and brother and law went one night at 4pm and did everything-- but this was the end of June and I think they were open later. THe week we'll be in the Orlando, they close at 7pm.

TIA!

I highly doubt you'll need it. May is a great month, especially on an early weekday. school field trips will start soon, but they're usually later in the week.

I would assume since you're planning on going during the week that you'll be find without the express pass. We were at IOA this past Saturday and it was mobbed - 60 to 90 minute waits on the popular rides (the worst was the Hulk plus they were having "technical difficulties" which added another 15 minutes or so to the wait). Uggh!! I guess between it being the weekend and a few marching bands being there that must have made the difference but we've been to WDW in mid-May in the past and never had lines like this so I was surprised how busy it was. There were a few rides we missed because we had to leave by 6 pm for the airport - we've been there before but it was the first time there for our nephew so I was kind of bummed that he missed out on Spiderman and the river raft ride (of course he didn't know what he missed out on and he had a blast!!).
