I am debating on weather I should pay for my bridesmaids and myself to get our make up done by Lisa (Lisa's Magical wedding), she is already doing our hair. I thought of going up to the mall to MAC Store and have our faces done and just buy the products instead of having Lisa do it. Any suggestions or know if she is good with putting the right amount of make up on?

Did anyone do a test run for hair and make up with her before your wedding?

its relasly up to you and waht you can afford. If you can splurge then go for it and pay for their hair and make-up. I am giving my girls an option either hair or make-up by Lisa and I am paying as one fo their gifts. Some of my bridesmaids like doing their own make-up so they chose to get their hair done...you get the picture. I also went to MAC and had a trial run done on my own and let me tell you...after buying the make-up it would have been cheaper to just use Lisa.

I'm not paying for anyone to have their hair and/or makeup done. I presented it as an option to eveyrone, and everyone wants to do their hair and only 2 pepole are doing their makeup. I may pay for my DF's sister to get her makeup done but i'm not sure yet

I'm a qualified cosmetologist who loves experimenting with make up, but for my wedding day i have opted to have Lisa do my hair & make up for 2 reasons:-

1) I'm having to get up at 5am & ill be soo sleepy

2) I don't want the stress if anything goes wrong cos ill be so nervous, i just want to kick back & do nothing.

I'm also having my bridesmaids, my mums hair & Sean best lady hair done too. If they want there make up done by lisa thats there decision.

Did anyone do a test run for hair and make up with her before your wedding?
Yes i plan to have a trial run for my hair as its very fine & doesnt hold certain styles well. I just want to see how long it will last, plus my hair will be done for my in park photo session :goodvibes

I am having Lisa do hair and makeup for me and I presented it as an option to my sister and best friend - they also have opted to get it done.

I can't imagine trying to do my own makeup on that day... Plus, it will be nice to do everything in the comfort of our hotel room.

My sister is getting her hair and make up done by Lisa. She let us know that she was having it done, and asked if we would like to also (at our own cost.) I have been on the boards and have heard nothing but praise for Lisa and her team. I would much rather pay $150 to have my hair and make up done professionally then try to worry about it, when I should be giving my sister the attention. So Lisa's team is going to do my sister, mom, sister's fmil, sister, and my make up and hair. The bridesmaid will be doing her own hair and make up.
So you can always present it as an option. Don't know if this helps or not, just a pov from a maid of honor :)

My pesonal hairdresser came to the resort and did my hair, MOH's, and MIL's. I planned to pay for all 3 of us but MIL surprised me and paid :teeth:

I didn't have my make-up done, I bought some of the "bridal" line from Estee Lauder because I tend to be shiny in pictures and that make-up is specifically for photos and it worked great! I don't normally wear a lot of make-up and DH doesn't like me in much make-up so I didn't want someone else doing it and using too much. That would have really worried me, that they would do it, I would think it was too much and have to wash my face and start over - too stressful! My MOH was 17 at the time and didn't normally wear any make-up so my best friend did hers, just powder, a little eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. Again, natural and fresh looking.

I did do test hair, but since my regular hairdresser was doing it my wedding day that just made sense. If you have someone else do your test hair, take lots and lots of pictures before, during, and after of how you like it, and have your wedding day hairdresser go by those pictures. That way you're not trying to figure out how you want it at the same time as actually doing it ;)
