Is Epcot doable in 1 day?

We're finally making our first trip to WDW in January, just DH and myself alone for a little "couple's time" - YEAH! :cool1:

I'm trying to make our trip plans, ADRs and such, and I was wondering if we could tour Epcot, or at least see most of it, in 1 day?

I honestly think this is just a matter of how much you want to see & what time of year you go.

January is typically a less busy time, so depending on what you want to do & see you may be able to do it in a day. If you want to really browse around the countries you may want to take a day to see all the attractions & another 1/2 day/evening to see the countries.

Why make some ADR's in one of the countries. We've done sit down in Germany, Italy, Mexico & Canada (that I remember. Personally, my favorite was Italy with Mexico a close second.

Have a great time when you go. :goodvibes

I think you could see the basics in one day, just breezing through the many displays and exibits, but as far as getting into the crust of each country is going to require several days. I would make sure you review the differnet areas and determine which ones are of more interest, this way you can spend more time in those places. Enjoy your planning and trip....

If you want to do most of the attractions and see a lot of WS, then I honestly don't think it's doable in one day. There is a lot of walking in Epcot and it's easy to wear out as the day goes on.

I hope you enjoy your time at Epcot! :goodvibes

It depends on what you want to do like the others said. If you want to see some of Future world and a few of the countries, its possible. If you want to eat at a table service restaurant, or if you want to do a lot, that will take up 2 days.

I think you can hit the highlights, see enough to make you want to go back. I don't know that it's possible to see it all. But, then again, I prefer the selective tour strategy, especially for Epcot.

It is doable in one day, but like others have mentioned it depends on how in depth you want to go. Epcot is our favorite park, so we like to spend at least two days there. Depending on how much time you spend on the rides vs. time you spend touring the country, you can definately pack it into one full day. Whatever you decide, definately ride Soarin, it is the best!!! :Pinkbounc

My family has always squeezed Epcot & Disney Studios into a single day (well, as long as MGM/Disney Studios has existed). IllumiNations makes for a perfect close to the evening.

I think you can see highlights of the park in one day, but need at least two to "do" the park as a whole.

I think its a definate 2 day park - 1 each for future world and WS, mind you, we spent at least 5 full or half days there 2 weeks ago and there are STILL things we haven't seen.

WS itself would take a day to do ~ Certainly a two day park.

We do Epcot in one day every year. The only thing we skip sometimes is the Universe of Energy because it takes about 45 minutes. Most of the time we'll do this too.

I have been able to hit the highlights of Epcot in one day, but because of the size of the park and the number of exhibits, it's almost impossible to see and do everything in one day, even during the slow season.

If you spend only one day at Epcot, you will miss a lot of stuff. If you are determined to do this, I recommend that you look over the park map in advance, choose the attractions you want to do, and compose a touring plan so that you can get them all done by the end of the day.

We love Epcot and to truly see everything it is at least a two day park. You can certainly breeze through it in one day, but would miss a lot of what makes Epcot so special. I have been countless times and for one reason or another there are still things I have missed in World Showcase.

We usually do Epcot in one day. We cover FW thoroughly, maybe skipping UoE. Tour the WS, maybe seeing some countries in depth and breezing thru others. We aren't big TS eaters, so that frees up time for us. Also, not much on shopping, so that cuts out a big chunk of WS.

Another member of the Epcot fan club checking in here - Epcot is such a great couples park. The live entertainment is one of the highlights at the World Showcase but you do need to be somewhat aware of the schedule - some acts start earlier; others go later into the evening. When we were there, British Invasion was the group that performed the latest and it was fun to see after dark. Click on the "Epcot" tab on this link http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/

There will be brief descriptions and schedules. Recheck about 1 week prior to your trip and then check the Epcot times guide, once you arrive.

I would like to recommend the following possibilities:

JAMMitors (Future World) - Stomp-like percussion group.
World Showcase Player UK & Italy. (Comic skits)
Off Kilter - Canada. (Celtic infused rock)
Serveur Amusant - France. Comedic balancing act.
Dragon Legend Acrobats - China
MoRockin' - Morocco. (Middle Eastern influenced pop)
British Invasion - UK. (Beatles style music)

One of my favorites may or may not interest you: Miyuki (Japan) is a lady who makes amazing candies and she's so fast.

If it's just you two, then you want as much time at EPCOT as possible - the most "grown-up" park. I'd allocate a day and a half for it, but you could probably do it in a day. With a day and half, you could see more and safely take your time and stroll and relax.

If you want just one day though, I'd just hit the highlights in Future World and spend the vast majority of the day in World Showcase.

I'd dedicate the morning to Future World - get fastpasses for Soarin ASAP when you get there, then head over to Test Track and get in the stand-by line. After that's done, head back to The Land for Soarin. See what time it is after that, and if it's still before 12 noon, I'd hit Mission Space or something else you want to see in FW.

I'd make sure I have at least from 1pm on to the end of the evening to explore World Showcase, eat dinner, and watch Illuminations.

It is doable in one day, but it kicked our behinds! We did most of FW except Mission Space and Test Track (due to DD's age) and then forged ahead around the world. We really hadn't meant to do all the countries but were looking for Aurora in France, so when you get halfway around the lagoon you have to go one direction or another to get back so...it felt like being in the Amazing Race by days end. We were there from opening till about 6:30 p.m.

We did go back another night about 5:30 to meander through the parts of FW we wanted to see more of and let DH ride Mission Space. We had 7:50 ADRs at Rose and Crown and then saw Illuminations. It was nice to go back another night and not have to hurry through or to anything. I would try to find another half day if I were you just so you can really enjoy WS and soak up the atmosphere. Have a good time! :goodvibes
