Is Electric Light parade returning?

It seems that WDW has reverted back to the older electric light parade...

Does this give any hope of the parade returning to DLR?

That would be so cool! That was one of my favorite parades as a kid!

The parade ran at DCA for about 9 years and was sent over to MK where it is now playing. The older light parade consists of the actual floats that were at DCA just a couple years ago.

However with all of the construction at DCA, the parade route is too narrow in some places (or nonexistant right now), which is why the parade was sent to Florida. Will it come back once the major construction is over? Maybe, but probably not because DCA has WoC which is some pretty solid nighttime entertainment. Considering the parade route goes right by the WoC seating area, it would cause mass chaos with all of those people and trying to schedule the two would be a nightmare. So for now, DLR won't have a night parade for a while. They'll stick with Fantasmic, Remember Dreams Come True and World of Color. Although DL is getting a new daytime parade in a few weeks. And once all of the DCA construction is completed, I'm sure they'll also get a new daytime parade.

EP still shows on the calendar for our WDW trip in September... Hopefully it'll be back at DL *after* that.

I loved the EP when I saw it for the only time in 1996. I at least have video of it when I feel nostalgic.

I would love to see it come back.

I think this rumor is based on.... What will happen in DL next year? Nothing. so lets suggest they have an extra parade to fill in that gap.

A sort of DL got Magical, DCA got WoC. DCA gets LMAUA so DL gets ST 2.0. DCA is getting Carsland so DL has to get something big.

So just a rationalized rumor. Nothing anyone should count on until the fat lady starts warming up for the opera.

It is my most vivid memory of my first trip to Disneyland, when I was 15.

and I was happy to see it at the MK....

But the first time I saw it was in 1977 at DL on Main Street. So to me, Walt's original park will ALWAYS be it's home and the very best place for it to be seen.

With SoundSational I would be surprised if EP came back to DL. I think they could put it back at DCA and now it would really complement the evening entertainment as opposed to what it was before...a bone thrown to guests in a desperate and unsuccessful attempt to get them to stay at DCA in the evening.

Totally agree!!! I did not even know it was ever at DCA!! My favorite parade down Main Street as a kid! I don't even remember all the other parades, but remember that one!

But DCA has a bigger problem now. WoC. Not the show, all the people waiting for it. Because they stand on the parade route waiting to go into Paradise Park. 4,000 people standing mostly right on the parade route.

I'd love to see a night parade in DCA, but I just don't think it is practical anymore because of how WoC works. I'd gladly take it in DL too. But there is nothing but made up rumors that it will return.

I would like to see DEP back at the DLR, but it was also nice to see it at the MK when I went to WDW last year.
