I wanted to earn $75 for something I *need*

for scrapbooking. So I motivated myself into pulling out 1 bin of DD clothes. It took me 8 hours last Monday to iron everything, take pictures then list them. I listed 16 auctions with a goal of $100 - I ended up making $209.00!
Of course this morning I wake up to an email from one buyer saying she didn't look at my pictures close enough before she won, and now she doesn't want it.

Even after letting her off the hook..I still end up with a little less than $200! It was definately worth my time and effort.
No One needs to really read this, I just need to VENT IT!
That was nice of you. Even though it was an inconvienance you cared.
I have always had good luck with my purchases and love making friends with Ebay folks. But recently I got yelled at by this guy.
I bought my d-sis a camera like mine, I paid over $500 in 2001 for it.
This was a good deal; the set was a lot of extras, which I already have. But when she unpacked the camera by the LCD screen was a gouge a half inch long that was not disclosed. She had a real concern about moisture getting in it. I did too.
I then bought a second camera for her the next week to go with the extras.
I did ask the seller why he did not disclose the flaw and he said he said it was in good working condition. The extras were great, had the camera not been dropped hard enough to gouge it.
What I had asked was for 1/2 the shipping cost reimbursed, as I had paid to purchase the same camera "in Good Working condition".
He carried on with 5 paragraphs of hostile things about he did not need to disclose the damage he said good condition, About coming back from vacation and finding the email, that he was going away for 5 weeks and did not want me to bother him again.....
But why hide the gouge so I did not have a choice in passing the set up?
I did not ask him to take the entire set back, I only asked for half the shipping. So I would have a working camera and eat the loss of his camera.
Maybe I expected something too much, but had I known about the flaw I never would have bought the item at all. Not even for the extras. There are the sets on Ebay all the time.
Is it because he was a man seller, or was it because I was not suppose to notice the damaged area? He did not take a picture of the back of the camera.
He is a seller of professional camera and photo related items...
He should of known the buyer would want to know of the damage. It was not just a older camera he upgraded from. He wanted to dump it, so packed it with some goodies that could only be used with that specific camera.
I just wanted to make it feel right and both of us walk away feeling satisfied with the transaction.
I guess had I opened everything myself I would have just repacked it and sent it all back.
But, I would never even put his camera on ebay with the damage. No one would want to buy something that would not serve the purpose. the extras are manufacter specific for that model only I can't even use it on the newest camera I have from the same manufacture.
Sorry to go on and on, but he was so long and laid into me so bad and had the final word...including NOT giving me the 1/2 postage.
I did not ever leave feedback.
I do selling, and it is part of I have things no longer needed and I know other can use. Like the gal that spotted a pair of earrings I never wore that were exactly like ones her Mother got her 35 years before that the dog ate one.
That is Ebay to me!
But, I have my gf wanting me to help her sell and I have had a lot of luck on Etsy, nothing on craigs list, but 1/2 of what I listed on Ebay sold. then the postage is so much anymore, the fees. ERGH.
Well, I feel better......
