Hi
I have a reservation for the first week of March and it seems that I have to cancel the plans
.
Will DVC put those points in holding conditions or are they waiving it?

thanks

Right now they are waiving holding but who knows how long it will last

They are not cancelling VGC reservations more than 30 days out, more like 15-20. It feels right to keep waiving holding until all resorts are open.
I agree. However since the pandemic became a crisis, and quarintines has been almost a year now, and we can only reserve 11 months ahead, I would think all of the reservations should have been worked though by now. (I never think about CA. Surprised everyone with a reservation there has not cancelled already. We went into quarantine 3/10/2020.)

Yes but they are also allowing booking still and have been this whole time. It’s not as if they wiped them all out. I can even book for the weekend of March 6 right now. But studios are totally available until late April which indicates people are cancelling. Usually it’s booked solid even before 7 months. But come May, it gets spotty and after June 1 it’s almost fully booked up again, aside from a few pockets. Even some dates in October are booked which is still outside 7 months. So, people are booking and rebooking and rebooking waiting on CA to open. I myself have three weekends booked (April, May and September) and i highly doubt the parks will be open until at least the September one. I’m hoping the hotel at least is open for May. April I feel like won’t go, but there’s always a chance, They lack of holding penalty keeps me in the game.

I just had to cancel a VGC booking (no hope for the forseeable in us getting there from the UK!) and the points aren't going into holding, and borrowed points are going back to their original use year.

They don’t want people traveling if they think they have COVID or actually have it, that’s why they are waving holding. Otherwise I’m sure some people will travel anyway if they were are going to lose their points. That’s why all travel has become flexible and refundable, it’s for the greater good.

That is wonderful. And as it should be, as the VGC is not open yet.
