Is DME automatic with WDW package?

I have used DME before, but booked it through DCL when we took our cruises. We are going to WDW in October and I booked a Magic Your Way package. I put our flight information in our reservation. Are we automatically registered for DME and I will get luggage tags in the mail, or do I need to do something separately?

No, you must reserve it manually (proactively; separately).

Sometimes a reservationist will remind you of DME and reserve it for you as an additional step in the overall reservation process while you are still on the phone.

Packages may include airfare (airline tickets) hence the filling in of flight information.

Did you book online? If you filled out the Ground Transportation section and checked the boxes that say you want to use DME to/from your resort, that is all you have to do.

Just to put it in different words ...

DME is available and free with ANY Disney resort reservation (both package and room-only), but it is NOT automatic ... you must make a separate DME reservation. If you don't make a DME reservation, you will NOT get a DME ride or luggage delivery.
