I'm used to humid & traveling to WDW when they have hot & humid. So when I see 88 at WDW I know it's going to be toasty. Is 88 at DL the same or does it "feel" cooler because of less humidity?

Trying to pack for a trip & I'm not sure if pants, shorts, or capris will do.

Not humid, but 88 is still hot with all that pavement. Bring shorts. And a light sweater or jacket for mornings and evenings.

Definitely not as hot or humid as WDW but it's not pants weather IMHO. A light jacket will do for those late evenings.

The big difference is that in CA, where it is not humid, it is very pleasant in the shade - even when it's super hot out. When standing in the hot sun, it's still going to be H-O-T! :)

I'm from Texas and every time I visit DL, I freeze!!! ;) even when it's hot during the day, it's not that hot. I would certainly have a sweatshirt or jacket for mornings and evenings. Brrrrr! I'm chilly just thinking about it!

Thanks all! Coming from MI we get super humid with all the lakes. Plus we've had really hot weather this year, mid to upper 90's & a few 100's too, so I wasn't sure about CA since we've been once for 2 days two years ago. That and we don't travel out west much.

S CA weather is far superior to Central FL - I can't stand humidity - I can handle dry heat, even in the summer Anaheim is usually cool in the morning and evening *I prefer visiting Disney when I need a light jacket.

I agree, shorts or capris should be fine, you certainly won't need pants. Even when we go for New Year's, we're fine in pants and a light jacket, so 80s is quite warm. You'll still be warm enough, but you won't get that horrible energy-sapping fug that comes with humidity. Of course, we even think Cali is humid, compared to up here in the Rocky mountains, so it's all relative ;) Take a sweatshirt or jacket in case it gets cool in the morning or evening, and you should be fine.

Coming from Texas I love the Socal weather as the humidty is a lot less.

Southern California is much more humid than up here in Northern California but no where near Florida.

Disneyland is 89 with 43% humdity right now at 12:40pm PDT
Florida is 90 with 60% humidity right now at 3:40pm EDT

Where I am it 30% humidity.

A rough indicator of the relative comfort levels of Anaheim and Orlando can be found by comparing their dew points. All else being equal higher dew points correspond with higher discomfort.

Current dew point in Anaheim is 64F.
Current dew point in Orlando is 73F.

Generally speaking when the dew point gets above 65F it starts feeling uncomfortably humid.

California is no where near as humid as it is back east and in the south. Be prepared for the temps to be a bit toasty at times but really not too bad at all. Have fun!!!:cool1:

Coming from Sydney in Australia where summer is humid all day everyday So Cal is like heaven for me
I never suffer from the heat in So Cal and I've been when there's been some hot days

I find the desert air in So Cal to be so dry, whenever I go to Disneyland I need to remove my contact lens an hour or two earlier than usual compared to Nor Cal, otherwise, I literally have to peel them off my eyeballs. Ouch.

You have no idea how happy you two have made me, lol. :goodvibes DS & I always go to WDW in February, because otherwise the heat would just suck the life outta me. I was worried about going to DLR in early October, because I would *never* be able to stand WDW then (can't stand to go outside here at that time, either!) but it sounds like I might survive? :thumbsup2

I didn't even think about the weather being different... I've never known anything but horrid humidity, lol.

Did the OP say when they were visiting?

We just went this past Monday and Tuesday, and the highs were 97 and 98 degrees, respectively. But here's the funny thing - - Monday was totally bearable, and I say that as someone who does NOT like hot weather. Yes, it was hot. Yes, it was sweaty. But we were able to take some air conditioning breaks, find shade here and there, and basically do alright. Nobody complained, and we had a great day.

Tuesday was a different story. We had EE, and were in the park at 8:00 for opening. By 8:15, we were dripping with sweat. The humidity was vastly different as compared to Monday. By the afternoon, we thought we might burst into flames as we walked in the direct sun. We got to the IASW line at around 2:00...no shade, and only one side open. 3 of our party of 8 decided to do the 20 min wait, but the rest of us bailed. We left early that day, as it really wasn't any fun for us. The other people in our group didn't have APs, so they sucked it up and stayed...but it was BRUTAL.
