Is DL A Nice Place?

Of course it's subjective. I hate hot weather. That being said California still rocks and it will always be my home no matter where I live. It's still hot and it still gets hot every single month. High tempuratures and observed highs are a tad different. Local on the 8's was my favorite show when I lived in California and I must say that frequently their forecasted highs were exceeded by at least 5 degrees on a daily basis. I'm talking heat index either. Miserable heat is miserable heat.

I personally think Florida is less miserable than California. It's still miserable though. You mistook my preference of humid heat as being a Florida advocate. Florida still stands strong as the worst state I've been to aside from Texas. I haven't decided which is worse. Florida stinks of tourists and Texas stinks of, well Texans. At least people in California are too self absorbed to even look down their nose at you. I like the feeling of anonymity I can enjoy there.

Disneyland is very clean and I love it. Don't go during the summer though. It's hot and hot sucks.

I hit the trifecta. I was born in SoCal, live in Texas & have been a tourist in FL. :rotfl:

I'm surprised that no one mentioned free personalization of hats at DL. Oh and POTC has additional float-through, which makes it a better ride imo.

It is generally cool in California during January but it can always hit 90 which it did several times during January 07 so I am right. That's the real stinker about California is that you can reach summer temps every single month just like Florida. I think the reason I prefer other places to California is that I hate the convection oven feel of California heatwaves and the knowledge that they can always pounce on you. You don't just feel it from the sun. The ground is also baking and that heat rises to surround you in what I can only assume is what people refer to as "basking" in California's wonderful weather. A hot summer day in Florida can be downright pleasant if you get some rainfall. No chance of even a drip in California.

Yeah Florida is sticky but it's also moist which means you won't feel like a piece of sandpaper. Score one more for Florida. Maybe I'm just jaded from spending almost 30 years enjoying that so called wonderful weather California has. You can have it.

I will trade you the convectionoven heat or humid heat for my Saskatchewan deep freeze anyday!:thumbsup2

Ok I have to laugh at the temp. arguement, while I know its completely personal and subjective, I have to say I would take a dry heat alwasy over a humid heat. And this is from some one who HATED Palm Springs, I would go their again in the summer (How do the retirees stand it???) over Florida even in late summer.

I have only dealt with major hummidity twice once was in Mexico it was about 85 with 75% hummidity, I almost fainted, had asthma issues and almost fainted several times. I spent much of the day inside. YUCK!

We also went to FL last October and that was too much humidity for me I got very sick from the weather. It was hard to be comfortable.

Again it all depends on what you are used to, I would never go to the Midwest in winter time having been raised in So Cal any more then I would go to FL in the summer. But some one who is unaccustomed to heat might want to go in October where California is stuning. Jan 90's is not common, this year its been in the 60's.

Yes you should give DLR a chance OP it would be a lovely change and you would get to see the park that Walt walked in, including a few special things, like looking at his apartment window and knowing he and his family stayed there and created this lovely park to enjoy!

You should probably avoid the midwest all together. Especially in the summer when it's in the 80's and 90's with 100% humidity. And obviously it's chilly in the winter.....which is my favorite. My husband was raised in socal and he loves the cold weather. Probably even more than I do since I'm used to it.

Disneyland is great I love going! Some rides are better at DL some are better at WDW it's always fun to experience both.

OK, I have conclusively shown that WDW is hotter than DLR. And vice-versa. ;)

See "Comparison of Weather for DLR and WDW" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1711098

Here is an excerpt:

On average WDW is warmer than DLR all year long during the day and evening. On certain days DLR can be much warmer or much colder than WDW. WDW has lots more rain and humidity, especially in the summer.
