Is disneyworld worth it

I love Disney World. I have great memories from trips as a kid and LOVE getting to take our kids to WDW. That said, I would not add Disney to an around-the-world tour. There are so many more places in the world to explore. :) Unless you're a big Disney fan - but I would think that most huge Disney fans would already know all about how expansive WDW is?

Thank you for your input I'm a massive disney fan unfortunately I live in Australia so going to WDW has never been an option open to me before ( due to my dads fear of fur characters )

thank you for your Input I have decided to go and just avoid starwars/avatar ^.^
Sounds like a great plan. So much to see and do other than Star Wars and Avatar. As I said, I've never seen either of those lands and I still get a lot of value from a Disney World trip.

Sounds like a great trip!

Kind of a weird vibe on this... If you have the means for a 'world tour' and going to the other Disney locations not sure how 'worth it' is a problem... it surely isn't going to add THAT much more financially. If the question is more along the lines of "Is there that much differences between the World and other Disney locales ?' Then there are plenty of websites that list the attractions available.... you would need to decide if those attractions are 'worth it'. Obviously there is much more than Pandora and Star Wars.

Love Disneyworld, but I really enjoyed Disneyland. It was much more relaxing and laid back and a nice change from all the uber-planning. I'll definitely go back since my DD lives in LA. I will take WDW first anytime though.

If you decide to visit WDW, then learn about fastpasses and get them in advance. I heard someone say their friend went to WDW and hardly rode anything because they didn't plan ahead.

Avatar and Star Wars are a miniscule part of WDW. It is an amazing park and the size and scope of it compared to other Disney parks around the world will blow your mind. I think it is completely worth it.

I reallly want to go to tokyo but I'm staying with a friend so thats dependant on how hard it is to get there from her house ^.^ I think I will do disneyland after hearing you advice ty

FYI, if your friend lives in Tokyo, TDL can be reached via Subway to Maihama Station. It's really easy to access. You get off the subway and then you can get on the Monorail to TDL or TDS depending on which park you want to go to. We stayed near TDL and on our non-park days we would see tons of people heading the opposite way in Tokyo Station with all their Disney shopping bags and stuff. It was so neat!

Where do you live now?
Have you been to the US and Europe before?
How much time are you allotting for the US?

Honestly, if this was a once in a life time trip to the US and you wanted to see as much as possible, I would go to Disneyland instead. It's the original, it's more compact, and you can really see it all in less time. But the fact that you're not into Star Wars or Avatar shouldn't make a difference. That is such a tiny part of everything there is at Disney World.

And truthfully, unless you've already done a lot of travelling in France or have reason to believe you will in the future, I'd skip Disneyland Paris as well.

Ive only been to Disneyland and Disney World, I would skip Disneyland and go to Disney World, you can't even compare the two. As it was explained to us on the bus in Disneyland, all of Disneyland can fit into Magic Kingdoms parking lot. lol

I've done Disneyland, Disney World and Disneyland Paris. I love all 3! Disney World is my favorite as it is the largest and I live closest to that one. But, if I had the opportunity and the means, I'd do all 3 (4 if you can get Tokyo Disney in there too!). They are all familiarly the same, but uniquely different!! You can't go wrong with whichever you choose! And if you do make it to Disney World - please go on the Flight of Passage in Pandora (Animal Kingdom) - it is fabulous regardless of how you felt about the movie!!!!

Research all the attractions, and see if there's enough that's interesting to you that you can't find in Paris or Anaheim

I would skip all the other junk and go to WDW for 60 days personally. That should make my opinion pretty clear.

Walt Disney World is totally different from Disneyland and Disneyland Paris (I would argue that those two are more similar - two parks, walking distance apart). Walt Disney World is an archipelago - when you are there you are completely surrounded by Disney land, you are completely immersed in the experience, and you won't see any other hotels or businesses that aren't Disney. It has four parks, all very large in scale (compared to DL and DLP which are much smaller in scale - their castles are smaller, Main Street has a different proportion) with incredible theming. And the resorts at Walt Disney World are top-notch.

If you're looking to gain different experiences but don't want too much Disney, I'd recommend choosing one of the Disneylands (I would argue for the original Disneyland in California for authenticity's sake) and Walt Disney World. They're really two different extremes. And if you don't have time to hit all of the parks at WDW, I'd maybe suggest choosing Epcot and Animal Kingdom, since Magic Kingdom is rather similar to Disneyland (but actually very different, so if you want to compare the two, definitely hit MK).
