Is Disneyland Paris neglected ?

Disneyland Paris has problems and issues which the California and Florida parks do not.

The main historical problems stem from the fact that Disneyland Paris is not and never has been wholly owned by the Disney corporation. This has impacted everything from maintenance and upkeep budgets, to staffing budgets, to entertainment budgets and so much more.

The other issues which Disneyland Paris face is cultural and social behaviours and expectations. Disney does not equal America. Disneyland Paris is Frenchified Disney. Everything from the behaviour and expectations of guests to behaviour of staff reflect the location of the park, ie France and Central Europe. There are huge cultural differences between society norms in America and society norms in Europe. The Disney Parks are a reflection of the country and society where they are located. Therefore the California and Florida parks reflect the culture and social norms of America.

I just feel that DLP needs to have new rides and new lands. It also needs to attract people in all seasons.

Not anymore.

They are bringing Disneyland Park up to stratch now.

Plus the character interaction at DLP beats the American parks by miles.

Massively

Low numbers of CMs, poor hygiene filthy toilets even first thing in the morning.

I understand that cultural differences are in every park. But has there even been a new ride in Disneyland Park since space mountain ? Has there been anything new in the park. Does Disney even invest in the park?

Yes, Buzz Lightyear came after Space Mountain and Star Tours is having a major overhaul. Dreams was brought in for the 20th Anniversary and it costs a fortunes to design & run. It was decided a few years back that they would concentrate on the Studios as that was lacking when it opened due to financial constraints.

As others have said until recently WDW Company didn't own much of DLP like they do WDW & Disneyland, therefore the finance wasn't there. DLP have many debts which have been reconsolidated a few times in order for them to invest in the Parks.

WDW company have invested more money and has forgiven on some loans to help turn the parks round. Exchange rates, loan rates etc have all impacted on the investment into the parks

But they should have done something years ago

Not that easy when DLP has to pay WDW company licence money for each character they use, sometimes they have overlooked this in order to update or build new rides.

It is still early days of WDW Company owing a bigger share of DLP so it will take time to turn around.
