Is Disney Very Gluten Free Friendly?

My last trip to WDW was just over a year ago and at that time we hadn't figured out what my food problem was so I pretty much just ate anything I wanted...and paid the price, to put it delicately.

My next trip I will be going gluten/dairy free. Will there be much of anything in the restaurants I can safely eat?

Do the restaurants serve very many gluten/dairy free items, or do you have to work with them to modify everything to suit your allergies?

They are wonderful with allergies and gluten free is one of the common ones they deal with so you have nothing to worry about.

What I would suggest though is that you contact them before you go. You can email them on WDW.Special.Diets@disney.com. They will send you out a whole lot of info for you to save and/or print out, particularly for the CS places. They will also ask you for the details of any ADRs if applicable so when you arrive at a TS they will be expecting you. The chef will come out and speak to you to clarify your special needs and they are nothing short of outstanding in accommodating you.

For CS you may require waiting a while as they will make the food especially for you. Just ask for the manager and they will sort it all out. I would suggest for CS that you stick to off peak times as you will encounter delays, but they are incredibly helpful. It also helps to have the list of what CS have what in relation to your dietary requirements. Happy eating - you are going to be very impressed.

Disney is wonderful with gluten free. I feel very safe eating gluten free at Disney and most of the chefs and managers have been extremely helpful. I've been to Disney 4 times since being gluten free, and have only been glutened once. Have a great trip!

I do not have any gluten sensitivities, but I know I got gluten free brownies for my desserts and snacks sometimes.... and boy, were they yummy!
