:3dglasses I have a 10 year old DS and we've never been to Disney Quest - after a day at the park, is it really worth going? What should we expect? We are annual passholders and DVC members, so I know we get a discount. Clue me in please. We leave in TWO days! :thewave: :Pinkbounc

I have four kids and My kids were 5,8.10,16 and they loved it, I even enjoyed it and i don't like video games. but really enjoyed so many different things to do there. We spent all day there. Yes it's worth it.

DQ was a blast. its like a giant computer game you can play with. we loved it. both DD's had a blast

We've never done this, but I'm seriously thinking of giving it a try. My DS (12) I think would love it. He's a video game/computer game fanatic. I however get motion sickness watching his PS2. Hmmm-- wonder if I could get DH to take him while I do my favorite thing- SHOP!

Was also wondering "Is it worth It"?? When there is so many other things to see and do at WDW.
Do you have to pay to play each video game?? That would add up really quick. Don't you have to pay to get in??
:confused3

Ok here's another opinion. My DD 14 and DS 10 hated Disney Quest. I think it is largely due to the fact that we were there the week before Easter. It was extremely crowded. Hour long waits to do any of the major attractions. My kids did not want to do any virtual anything with that long of a wait. Since it was part of our ticket plan - I didn't spend any extra money, but would not do it again unless it was not crowded. We also found the layout to be really confusing and I studied the maps ahead of time.

I have to agree with diskids2. I was not all that crazy about DQ. My 3 DSs liked it, but I also felt it was crowded and had to wait just to play a pinball machine. Although everything is included with the ticket, if I had to pay $30 to go there, my 3 DSs would never go again. We were there in May, we went in the evening, maybe that's why it was so crowded. Our tickets at the time also included DQ. Try to get tickets from Ticketmania if you go. There cheaper than the AP discount. I would tell you to try it if you never have, but I didn't care for it.

We went to DQ last year, and it was cute and the things were fun but it wasnt very time consuming. We did almost everything within a couple hours.
My kids are older so i'm not sure if that makes a difference, but we got free tickets and I don't think that I would pay to go again. But for what its worth it was a nice day, and the cybercoaster (not sure if thats the name) was fun to make!

How crowded is it? I'm thinking about it for our next June trip (early June). What time of day is better (I would assume as soon as it opens)?

I am not sure if my kids would like DQ or not but I just looked at Ticketmania's prices and they are not too bad. My question is if we buy them from Ticketmania and decide not to go, do the "expire" or could we use them on a future trip in a few years?

Disney Quest was my favorite "park" in Orlando. On an anniversary trip, my wife and I spent most of a day there (taking a break to see Cirque du Soliel). We also found it far more relaxing than a day at a regular park. We played several of the "headliner experiences" several times.

DQ has what are probably the best virtual-reality games ever created. It has many of the current arcade games, as well as many of the classics I remember from growing up (space invaders, pac-man, centipede, etc.). There are also animation classes, a bumper-car variation, and some other non-game things (like photo manipulation and build-your-own toy). Almost all games are no charge (once you are inside). Games that I'd never pay $1/play for at an arcade I could try out for free. The only exceptions are some of the ticket-dispensing games (but, even these I found to be generous compared to the usual ticket games at our local arcades) and those (such as build your own toy) where you take something significant away.

We did go at a relatively slow time (during the week in September), so if it were crowded, I could see how that would change things.

That said, we probably won't go on our next trip with our 4 y.o. - most of it she would not find that interesting. But an older kid, or adults who enjoy games (such as me...), will probably love it.

I didn't really like DQ. I was so disappointed, I had read really good things about it. The only thing we liked was Pirates of the Carribean ride and Virtual Space Mountain. It would be a good way to spend an afternoon if it was rainy. I would only go again if it was part of my ticket, like the old ultimate park hoppers. I personally don't think it's worth the $.

We leave tomorrow at 5 p.m.! Wow. Anyway, we are doing DQ on a non-park day. We have been there so many times and my kids always want to go back. My DS13 and DS15 choose that over the water parks. We will be there 7-8 hours. Do not try to go there on the same day as one of the parks. You'll be exhausted. It opens at 11:30 a.m. Get there when it opens, and it won't be crowded. Avoid evenings, especially on the weekends. Also, avoid rainy days, as it will be packed. It is definitely worth the cost to us because we're not paying to go in a park that day.

We took one day out of our trip this past June to spend at DQ. Our boys (12 & 16) LOVED it!!! We spent about 6 hours there. About 1/2 of that DH and I spent in the Cheesecake Factory! :rotfl2:

We went during the day. Don't know if I would have the stamina to tackle it after a full day in the parks (especially in June). Our boys were also "old enough" to venture around on their own, so DH and I didn't have to accompany them everywhere. DS (12) and I designed a roller coaster together and then rode it on the simulator. I thought that was great!

DH and I enjoyed the "retro arcade" part. It was so neat to see all the old games in there.

I don't remember paying extra for anything.

DQ is now one of the top three parks for both our boys! It was the one thing from the trip they talked about the most...but they're teenage boys...go figure!

I would gladly go back again and definitely think it is worth the price. At least try it. If you don't like it...you never have to go again.

I have never been there but DS was at the one in Chicago before it closed. He loved it. I want to say he was about 10 then. Now 14 and he requested we go there our first day in Disney and then off to the ESPN club for dinner.

:cool1: I just can't believe we are going!

The times we have gone it was crowded so it took a while to get onto the rides. If the crowds were lighter, we would have had a better time. As it was, there were some school groups there and the kids were running around all over the place with no supervision. We liked it and wouldn't mind going back though.

We have never been to DQ, but we have the tickets which are included in our package. So we were thinking of checking it out just cause we've never seen it and its included.
Otherwise, I don't think I would be interested at all.
I didn't realize you had to wait in line to play the games.
Also, once inside are all the games "free", so to say, included in the admission??? Or do we have to still buy tokens or something??
Thanks :earboy2:

We are two adults, DH is 32 and I'm 25, and we LOVED DQ. We were only there for two hours (10pm to closing at 12 midnight) but we had so much fun with the old arcade games (Ms. Packman! And all the Astro blasters!) THey have the Dance Revolution games too, car speedway racing games, and more! There is air hockey and our favorite was the "Build your own Rollercoaster" simulations-- That is awesome! (We went level 5 with all the turns, twists and loops you could throw in!)

I can imagine it'll be a hit with young and teen children.
