Is Dinner at Crystal Palace worth it?

Well, that menu that is posted does not do it justice! I was BOWLED OVER by the selection. There are some really interesting food items on that buffet. Everything was fresh and clean. The desserts were OUT OF THIS WORLD.

They just updated the menu http://allearsnet.com/menu/menu_cpd.htm

Another vote for CP! My kids (even the teenager) are big Pooh and Eeyore fans and they love this place. We've been there for dinner and we're going back for breakfast in a few weeks.

DCGrumpy! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now, THAT is the menu I remember! OMG...that reminded me...the adobo pork was to die for, and the Thai mussels...delish! And the kale...I could not stop eating the kale!

Dang! Now I wanna go back! I am also very hungry right now waiting to finish dinner! :sad1:

We had breakfast there on Nov. 10th and it was REALLY good. The food was good, the characters were fun, and I thought the atmosphere was very nice.

I can't imagine that dinner would be any different - except for the type of food - but I would expect the quality would be the same, based on all the reviews I've read. (Haven't read this entire thread...)

This is one of my favorite and must dine places in all of Disney World!! I've had both lunch & dinner there and have never been disappointed.

After reading this thread, I'm excited. I made reservations for my 80-something year old mother and I for dinner prior to MVMCP in December without being sure what the menu was really like. It sounds like something she'll really enjoy.

We always did CP for breakfast and really enjoyed it. Last summer we were there for over two weeks so we decided to try CP for dinner. It was great. We're eating there in January again. The food was much better than I expected and of course the kids love the character interaction. Also CP just screams Disney to me!

Last time we were in the park we went to three character meals -- CRT breakfast, Chef Mickey breakfast, and CP. CP was by far the best.

Now, I wouldn't pass up CRT with my girls (3 - ages 13, 9, 6), but having done it once I really don't have a great desire to go back. It was enjoyable, getting to experience the castle we won't forget, and the characters did make it fun for my ds (who was being a good sport about having to be there with his sis's).

Chef Mickey's was just plain LOUD. The noise level was just unbelievable to me! The food was good. There was a lot of character interaction. I just couldn't get over the amount of noise between the characters and the music and the monorail almost overhead.

Our last day we had lunch at CP before heading to the airport. It was THE best place for our last hurrah. The server was wonderful -- gracious, attentive - this guy got my best tip of the trip. The food was excellent. Everyone from the 6 yo to adult found lots to enjoy. I especially remember a cranberry (I think - I know it was fruit!) chutney that was fabulous! The characters all spent a good amount of time at each table. The rotation of the charcters was well timed so we had time to visit the buffet between characters. All in all it was just great.

This year CP was the only one of the three my kids asked to do again. One big tip -- whoever you want to be in pictures with the characters -- sit across the table from them! And if there are more than two kids, mix up the order in which they sit. I made the mistake of sitting the two youngest next to each other and the characters spent more time with them than with the teens (I have four kids). We mixed it up the next time and I got more picture opportunities with the older kids.
