they just mix it up for the 3 different rotations?
is it always Lumiere's, next night Animator's Palate and then Parrot Cay?

I believe the 3 possible rotations are..
PLA....
LAP....
APL....

It isn't always LAPLAPL, it depends on your situation and DCLs scheduling.

It is just the DW and I on our cruises and we prefer early dinner seating. We get LAPLAPL on the Magic and TAP on the Wonder, because we are usually seated with other adults not travelling with children.

Other situations get different assignments.

Consider that each dining room can accomodate about 450 diners and that there are 3 restaurants operating simultaneously. So roughly one third of the diners for each of the two dining periods will be assigned to each restaurant, and especially the Main dining at 6pm.

Camcolt - you answered the question I was actually trying to ask.
Yes those rotations are exactly what I was thinking. I know not everyone will start in L but I was thinking the rotations go
LAPLAPL or APLAPLA or PLAPLAP
I just didnt take the time to figure it out.

So it depends if your traveling with children where your dinner rotation starts? We're on the Magic 5/03 with 3 kids....11,9,7 early seating (which we may change, I'm not sure if early is good for our age girls)... which rotation would we likely have? Does the early and late seating change the rotation?
Sorry for so many questions in one little post, just trying to understand how it works.
Thanks So Much!!

I understand that MOST of the time, your rotation will be determined by the makeup of your party and that has been the case for us. Our rotation began in Animator's Palate (with children ages 11 and 5). Previoulsly, DH and I cruised alone and began our rotation in Lumiere's. I've read here that families with older children often begin in Parrot Cay.

When do you find out what your dinner rotation is? Plus how do we know if we are at a large or small table?

Your rotation info is in your cabin when you arrive. You find out your table number at the same time. We were a party of 5, so I thought we would probably be seated alone, but were at a table for 10. The family we were matched with were our age with children of similar ages. We really enjoyed getting to know them as the week progressed.

We were PLA with children 7,9 and 10. So they were not much older. We found our dinner assignment on our KTTW card when we checked in at port.

a side note: if you check in at one of the resorts, do you get your rotation there?

Minnee - my children are practically the same age as yours are. The only downfall I can see is adjusting to time change ie it would be 6:30 eastern time, but only mid afternoon according to your stomachs. I think it's great seating for children of that age. I couldn't imagine having mine wait till 8:30. You eat and then they can do what they want - go back to the club or go to the show.

our rotation was plaplap. we had a almost 15 and 13 year old. i think they did this so we could have the fancy night at the usually fancy restaurant. any other questions ask!!:pinkbounc
