I am so nervous about our cabin being on deck 1. I didn't know what to book when we booked the cat 9 cabin. Now I am worried because no one ever mentions it on this board. Please post any information be it good or bad if you have any about deck 1. I would like to be prepared on what to expect before the 5/22/05 cruise.

:wave2: Hi there, I have not stayed on Deck 1, but have heard great thing about it...THere are less rooms, so definitely less hallway noise...Also, you never have a full elevator arriving....When you go on an excursion or come back from one, you just go directly to your room, instead of everyone else, exhausted waiting on elevators with TONS of people.

Here I have a link for you to stateroom reports, Hope it helps..Everything starting with 1 is on deck 1...

I have never stayed on 1, but I have stayed on 2 and loved it...haven't found a deck I didn't like, as long as I get to go on board they can stick me anywhere!!

We stayed on deck 1 a few cruises ago. We really liked that you were on the same deck for departing the ship at port. It was very convenient, quiet and we didn't mind at all. The only thing we really missed was the big windows that you have in the other outside rooms. We had two small porthole windows instead.

We haven't stayed on Deck 1, but spent A LOT of time in the medical center on one cruise. My DS was put on IV's and spent a day in one of their rooms. As bad as the situation was, I noticed how peaceful Deck 1 could be. You could hear the water brushing by on the side of the ship. It was the first time on a cruise that I really felt like I was on a boat instead of a big cruise ship. I LOVED IT!

Stayed on Deck 1 and loved it! There is some sort of crew area down there and saw a lot of different CM's coming and going. Even saw a fire drill one day.

The floor was very quiet. Our stateroom hostedd, Lidia was wonderful, and each kid had her own porthole to look through.

Loved being able to get right to our nice, cool room when coming back from St. Thomas without having to wait with everyone else for the elevator.

One point - make sure you keep your shades closed while in port. People walkig by in St. Maarten could see right in.

We stayed on Deck 1 twice and had no problem whatsoever. Once in Room 1030 at the very end of the hall. Can't remember the other room number from an earlier cruise.

Very quiet and very little foot traffic.

Have a wonderful cruise.

We stayed on deck 1 rm 1037 and it was very quiet. You guys will have a great time...

Thanks for all the help! I feel much better about our cruise. I know we will have a great time.

I'm in 1036 in just 51 days (6/26 Wonder).
If I understand what I read a couple of days ago, the Forward Tender Lobby is used on Nassau day and the Aft Tender Lobby is used on CC day. The poster said that you have to ride/climb up to Deck 2, then back down to Deck 1 Aft because there is no "thru traffic" from Mid to Aft on deck 1.
I wonder if we'll be bothered by noise on Nassau day.
