Is December 11, 2016 going to be a popular sail date?

I am thinking of booking a 7 day Eastern on the Magic out of Miami. I'd love to wait a few months before putting down a deposit for 2 rooms. I'm trying to decide if this counts as "early" December and thus a less popular cruising time. Or is it getting too close to Christmas?

It's a gamble! I know that some of the cruises that were released a couple of months ago are still at opening day prices . . . .

My daughter and I were on the Wonder 12/7/14 out of Miami and got an IGT rate of $500 per person (5 nights)...the ship was still only half full - it was a little quiet in the dining rooms...if you look at the price history on cruisefish you'll see the first two weeks in December are almost the cheapest of the year. And, wow, is a great time to sail

We were looking around that time too, either the eastern on the Magic on the 11th or the western on the Fantasy on the 10th. I'd prefer the western itinerary but I'd rather sail on the Magic, so who knows what we'll end up doing. But we're moving soon and I don't want to tie up too much money in a deposit until we get settled, so we wouldn't book for a couple of months either. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed the price doesn't go up!
