Is DDXP a better value than DDE?

Has anyone compared the savings on these two promotions to have an educated opinion on which is the better value? also, is it worth it to get the deluxe plan when you already have the DDE? For my personal example, my wife and I tend to dine at signature restaurants and do breakfast on the go. What would your opinion be in that scenario?

Thanks!

I/ we consider ourselves big eaters and we were on the regular plan for 5 days. We ate a small breakfast/ childs plate mostly at Music resort. Lunch was at about 11:30am and dinner was around 5:00pm, with a snack (cake, popcorn) about 2:00pm. Now we max. (cost wise) out our lunch, entree, drink and dessert with same at dinner. This was plently of food for us. We ate at:
BOMA- GRRRREEEAAATTT!!!!! You will hurt yourself on this food.
Hollywood & Vine- plain food as it gets. Not worth it!!!
Le Cellier- GREEEAAATTTT
Coral Reef- GRRREEEAAATTT!!!

This is dependent on so many factors, how do you eat, what and when do you eat, how many people are with you and what are their ages and eating habits. The best you can do is look at menus and decide what you really can consume in a day or week(s) then do the math. For some DDP works, for others who want three courses and the flexibility of 3 TS the DXDDP works best and for still others with kids who are considered adults, no buffett dining and a preference of apps over desserts it really isn't a good deal.

Based on your scenario I'd skip the plan and pay OOP, especially if you qualify for the DDE card. BUT look at the menus and see what you would order at the signature restaurants knowing that you will be paying the tip OOP with either plan. You may be surprised that the DXDDP is too much food and hte DDP is too little food for your preferences.

We find the DDE card works best for us. Because we do signatures only for dinner, the regular DDP doesn't work. And the deluxe is too much food as we only eat that one meal per day plus pehaps some sort of snack during the day or a very light CS meal that we share.

Of course, we also enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner. That alone makes the DDE worth it as the discount applies to alcohol too.

We find the DDE discount a better deal for us (2 adults) than the standard DDP. We just returned last week and used the DDE discount and never got close to the cost of the DDP had we purchased it for 5 nights. We ate a TS every night and often 2 TS in one day and still never went over the cost of $76 a day. We stick with our DDE card for all future meals. However, if the DDP went back to including the tip, we would reconsider. It has lost it's value for us. Before this trip we used the DDP on our last 10 trips and were big DDP advocates.

DDE works out better for us too, even dining at our favorite signature locations.

We are going with the DDE, as the DDXP will be around $170 each day including tips for the two of us. We can buy alot with that and get to eat exactly what we want.
