Is Cruising in October a BAD idea??

We completely agree with all of the previous posters, the water is much warmer in October than in April. We also just booked a 7 day eastern cruise in 2012 in October for our anniversary and my DD's birthday!

Atlantic hurricane season lasts half of the year.... June 1 to November 30. In my experience (from living on the east coast of Florida for several years), bad weather can come at any time...

We had some serious storms come before and after "official" hurricane season, too. You just never know!

Exactly! If people are really afraid of a hurricane, then you cant cruise half of the year.

we cruised this past october on a 7 day western and loved it. we would totally do it again. The weather was perfect the water still warm. Crowds were low. All around great!!!:cool1:

We have done a cruise in October before and enjoyed it. The temperature and humidity was more bearable than August and the water temp. more comfortable than December.

I have no problem cruising during hurricane season, if one is heading in the direction of the cruise route it turns into a mystery cruise. It's a risk I'm willing to take. We have cruised once in August, once in October and a WDW vacation in November and never had the threat of a hurricane during one of them.

i typically cruise in oct...and will be this year again..best month to cruise my opinion...
